This kit is suitable for absorbing chemical spills of water-based and oil-based fluids. It is especially recommended for corrosive, hazardous, flammable or toxic chemicals. The absorbent materials are color-coded yellow for chemical spills and signal the presence of a hazard.

The manufacturer recommends using this kit in case of a spill of an unknown chemical. Handle spill and absorbents with extreme caution.

Absorbent pads:

The absorbent pads (also called absorbent sheets) are made of medium-weight 240 gsm meltblown (nonwoven) polypropylene fibers. The fibers are sonic bonded in a grid of points, which gives the pads a typical embossed texture.

Socks :

The socks have an outer sleeve made of spunbond (nonwoven) and non-linting polyester, with a full length stitch seam. The sock ends are sealed with plastic clips. The socks are filled with polymeric absorbent flakes and are polyacrylate-free.
Socks are recommended for containing spills rather than absorbing them, given that they have a smaller contact area than pads and pillows.

Absorbent pillows :

The absorbent pillows have an outer casing made of spunbond (nonwoven) and non-linting polyester, with stitched seams on three sides. The pillows are filled with polymeric absorbent flakes and are polyacrylate-free.
Pillows can absorb a larger volume of fluids than pads. They are especially recommended for tight spaces. Do not expose pillows to high heat.

Drum :

The drum container is made of yellow high-density polyethylene (HDPE) and includes a large-threaded screw lid. The drum acts as an overpack for the absorbent materials, protecting them before use. It may also be used to store used absorbents, and to transport used absorbents for disposal. The drum is certified for the transport of hazardous materials.
