Superior manufacturer’s code: SKLPSMT
This glove has a cut resistance level 4 according to ASTM and ANSI standards.
This cut-resistant glove provides supreme protection against mechanical risks. It is made of knit Kevlar® with palms, fingers and the entire thumb covered in side-split leather. Between the leather and Kevlar® lies a layer of stainless steel mesh. In the most critical areas such as the thumb, the first two fingers and the crotches features an outstanding eight layers of stainless steel mesh. We’re talking about a glove that is hard to wear out and offers an outstanding protection. Its only shortcoming is that it strains the hand. So many layers of protection come at a price and that price is a little less dexterity.
Kevlar®, a thermoplastic polymer related to aramids, is a low-density high-strength material which offers an excellent tensile strength, elongation and shear strength. This fabric doesn’t expand from temperature changes and fairly absorbs vibrations and shock. Kevlar doesn’t strain the hand and react chemically well to hydrocarbons.
Side-split leather properties:
Side-split leather is leather created from the fibrous part of the hide left once the top-grain of the rawhide has been separated from the hide. It usually is less resistant than top-grain leather, but it is ideal for safety clothes because once paired with other materials, it becomes cost-effective compared to real leather.
Stainless steel mesh properties:
Stainless steel mesh is almost indestructible, it resists high temperatures as well as lows, it is also chemically stable, resists rusting, is antistatic and easily washable. It is ideal solution for shielding safety clothes such as gloves.
This glove is recommended for workers dealing with sharp metal sheets, metal stamping and glass handling as well as for workers in recycling depots, garbage collection and forestry.
Do not use for:
Kevlar® is known to have a low resistance to UV light and moisture. Stainless steel mesh makes this glove less responsive which is not practical if you have to retain a specific thoroughness.
Maintenance and service life:
It is not recommended to wash this glove since water and soap tend to rob leather of its natural oils which makes it stiffen and become brittle.
