Miller SofStop polyester shock absorber pack for installations needing a failsafe system. This personal energy absorber is equipped with standard double-locking carabiners with a ¾ in (19 mm) gate opening and 3 in (76 mm) diameter D-Ring. Both carabiners and D-Ring are made of forged steel, and the carabiners auto-locks and requires a double action to unlock. Width: 1 ¾ in (45 mm), length: 18 in (45.72 cm).

Shock absorbers are designed to reduce the impact of a fall below a force of 900 pounds (4kN). During a fall, the energy absorber deploys over a distance of 42 in (3.5 ft) to reduce the fall arrest force upon the worker. Once deployed, fall protection equipment must be replaced.
This product meets the standard CSA Z259.11 05.
This piece of equipment features carabiners made of forged steel that require a double-locking action for a gate opening of a ¾ in (19 mm). This equipment meets ANSI Z359.1-2007 standards, therefore can support a force of 3600 lbs (16kN) without any distortion. You can find the certification label on the D-Ring side of shock absorber.
This type of equipment is required whenever one must work with wirelike lifelines and leading edges. Leading-edge applications require an energy absorber placed inline with a self-retracting lanyard to add energy absorption properties at the body end of the system. The worker is responsible for visually inspecting his fall protection equipment before each use. During this routine inspection, the worker must note any signs of degradation, malfunction, or breakage. Any equipment will have to be replaced if any such signs are detected. These inspections should be performed more often if the lanyard is worn in extreme environmental working conditions.

Any equipment that has withstood a fall or an impact must be scrapped.
For cleaning, use a gentle soap or detergent and lukewarm water (37°C). Do not use bleach, chlorine, or other abrasive or chemical products. If your equipment is too dirty or contaminated, it is time to replace it.
Air dry without using heat in a clean environment. You can accelerate the drying process by wiping the wet equipment with a clean absorbent wipe, or by using a fan. Avoid exposure to sunlight and to any sources of contamination.
