In general, safety cabinets are color-coded: yellow for flammables, red for combustibles (flash point higher than 100°F), blue for corrosives.

Storage cabinet features:
- Red exterior.
- 2 manual doors, with 180° opening.
- 2 adjustable galvanized steel shelves.
- 4 adjustable feet for levelling.

The cabinet is constructed with double walls of 18-gauge (1-mm thick) steel with 1 ½ inches (38 mm) of insulating air space between them. Its fully welded structure allows for better protection from fire while also improving the durability of the cabinet. The cabinet walls are also provided with two flame arrester vents.

The cabinet shelves may be adjusted on 3 inch (76 mm) centers. They are slightly sloped to direct any liquid spills downwards and backwards, into a built-in spill-proof sump.

Particular attention has been brought to the safe locking of the cabinet. A steel crossbar across both doors locks in two lateral side bars and helps deter theft and prying while maintaining the cabinet doors closed in dangerous situations. The crossbar may be padlocked to each side bar, using No. 5 Masterlock or similar padlocks. The crossbar is painted high visibility yellow.

The cabinet doors are equipped with an U-Loc™ fixed handle provided with a set of 2 keys. The handle also accepts a padlock. The doors have a 3-point self-latching system with stainless steel bullet latches. The self-latching system engages when the doors are pushed closed. Piano hinges ensure that the doors shut easily and tightly.

The cabinet has an integrated connector for electrical grounding.

The cabinet is fully painted with a lead-free powder-coat paint, which provides protection from corrosion while keeping its lustrous resistant finish.

The Haz-Alert™ reflecting label on the front of the cabinet includes written warnings in 3 languages (English, French, Spanish). By reflecting flashlight beams, the label also allows firefighters to better notice the cabinet in case of emergency (power outage, smoke-filled room, etc.)
