In the construction and rehabilitation sectors, dust management is a major public health issue. This drill dust shroud offers a simple and high-performance solution for vacuuming debris at the exact moment it is created. By surrounding the hole saw, it creates an airtight suction zone that prevents particles from dispersing into the ambient air. Whether you are working on drywall, wood, or composite materials, this professional tool ensures optimal visibility and significantly reduces cleanup time after work.
Using this capture system means choosing a proactive approach to workplace safety. By protecting workers' respiratory tracts and preventing the contamination of adjacent areas, you meet the most demanding safety standards. Its intuitive design and universal compatibility make it a valuable addition to the equipment of any contractor concerned with cleanliness and compliance on their jobsites.
Another dust shroud with a diameter of 1-3/8 in (3.5 cm) is available for confined spaces. See (SAH7) item.
Dust can cause many health problems, including skin irritation, respiratory problems and allergic reactions. The lungs are particularly vulnerable, as they are constantly exposed to the hazards of the dust we breathe. It’s therefore important to take preventive measures, which is why we offer you this dust collector, because for Sylprotec, your safety is our priority Tm.
The BitBuddie is the professional contractor’s n°1 choice for dust control when using a hand-held drill, to provide a dust-free working environment. This device captures 99% of the dust generated during drilling. Its quick and easy installation makes it an indispensable accessory. The transparent shell gives contractors the visibility they need for optimum control.
Our drill dust collector is a smart buy for several reasons. Firstly, it can help reduce the amount of dust and debris generated during drilling, which can improve air quality in your workspace and reduce the health risks associated with dust inhalation, which is why we offer this product. The number of workers affected by respiratory diseases involving asbestos fibers and silica is significant. These diseases are incurable, and the workers concerned unfortunately only realize this after many years. Often at the end of their careers, when they should be enjoying life.
Please note that for asbestos and silica removal work, you’ll need a HEPA vacuum cleaner suitable for the job. HEPA vacuums should, among other things, have passed a DOP test. Contact our customer service department for further details.
This device stands out for its ingenuity and ease of adaptation in the field. Its key features include:
360-Degree Suction: A flexible hood that completely surrounds the cutting tool for total capture.
Universal Compatibility: Fits most drills and industrial vacuum cleaners equipped with HEPA filters.
Transparent or Translucent Material: Allows the operator to see the drilling point precisely for increased accuracy.
Non-Marking Design: The soft seal leaves no traces on finished surfaces (walls, ceilings).
Versatility: Effective for various hole saw diameters, ideal for installing light fixtures or conduits.
Installing this safety accessory is quick and requires no complex tools. Slide the shroud onto your drill's chuck or secure it according to the model before inserting your hole saw. Then, connect your shop vacuum hose to the designated port. When drilling, apply light pressure so that the base of the shroud is in total contact with the surface. The vacuum's suction will keep the dust inside the hood until it is evacuated to the tank.
For maximum efficiency, always use this shroud with a certified HEPA vacuum, especially if drilling into materials containing silica or lead. For ceiling drilling, the shroud is particularly useful to prevent debris from falling directly onto the operator. Ensure the vacuum is running before you start drilling and let it run for a few seconds after removing the hole saw to evacuate any remaining suspended particles.
To maintain optimal suction performance, regular maintenance is suggested. After each use, empty any debris trapped in the hood and clean the interior with a damp cloth. If working in a contaminated environment (asbestos), ensure you follow equipment decontamination protocols. Inspect the soft seal to verify it is not torn, as this would impair the airtightness. Store the shroud in a dry place, away from direct heat to preserve the material's flexibilityThe use of a respirator (mask) of at least category N95 is recommended.

It is designed to fit the most common diameters used in residential and commercial construction. However, it is recommended to check the maximum diameter supported by the hood to ensure effective suction.
This model is primarily designed for dry dust capture. For water-based drilling, it is better to use specific slurry collectors to avoid damaging your vacuum filters if they are not designed for liquids.
While this shroud captures the vast majority of dust at the source, wearing respiratory protection equipment (N95 or P100 mask) remains strongly recommended, and often mandatory according to CNESST regulations, especially in enclosed spaces or when working on hazardous materials.
