The 3M P100 acid gas filter is designed for professionals working in industrial environments where workers are exposed to solid particles, oil aerosols, and low concentrations of acid gases. Its patented advanced electrostatic membrane (AEM) ensures optimal filtration of solid and liquid contaminants while resisting oily particles. This flame-resistant and moisture-resistant filter is ideal for welding, brazing, cutting, and processing materials such as coal, iron ore, or flour.
Advanced respiratory protection for industrial environments.
This P100-certified respiratory filter under NIOSH standard 42 CFR 84 is sold in pairs and packaged in boxes of 50 pairs. It is compatible with masks from the 6000, 7000, 7500, FF-400, and Ultimate FX series from 3M. Its patented electrostatic membrane offers 99.97% filtration efficiency against solid particles and oily aerosols, while also providing protection against low concentrations of acid gases.
The P100 acid gas filter installs easily on the side connectors of compatible masks. It can be used with the 3M R502 adapter for cartridge configurations. It is essential to check the mask fit to ensure a perfect seal. This filter must not be used if the wearer has a beard or any condition preventing direct contact between the mask and the skin.
This type of filter protects against certain metal vapors emitted during welding, brazing, cutting, and other heat-related metal activities. It also protects against acid gases as long as their concentration does not exceed the limit set by CNESST. They offer protection against solid particles released during mineral processing, iron ore handling, coal, flour, or certain other substances. They are also effective against liquid particles from oily aerosols that do not emit harmful vapors. They also offer reliable protection against oily aerosol particles, heavy metal particles (lead, cadmium, arsenic), low-level asbestos, and carcinogenic particles (4,4’-methylenedianiline (MDA)). This type of filter must not be used on a mask in an environment exceeding a concentration greater than 10 times the permissible exposure limit set by CNESST.
These filters may help reduce inhalation exposure to certain airborne biological particles, such as mold, Bacillus anthracis (anthrax), Mycobacterium tuberculosis (Koch’s bacillus) responsible for tuberculosis, pandemic flu strains (H5N1, H1N1), etc. However, they cannot completely eliminate the risk of infection, illness, or disease. Due to the nature of certain biological contaminants, government agencies have not been able to determine exposure limits for all types of contaminants.
Do not use if the wearer has a beard or suffers from a condition likely to prevent direct contact between the edge of the mask and the face. These filters are not recommended in the presence of concentrations exceeding the permissible limits of gases and vapors. Do not use when particles are released during sandblasting and aerosol concentrations exceed 10 times the permissible exposure limit set by CNESST or any other applicable government regulation. These respiratory protection filters must only be used in areas that do not present an oxygen deficiency risk.
The filters are disposable and therefore require no maintenance. They are designed with an estimated lifespan of 40 hours or 30 days. These figures are for informational purposes only and should not be the sole tool for estimating the lifespan of your filters. Since each work environment is different, it is important to strictly follow the limits established by the manufacturer.
Use the P100 acid gas filter only in environments where the concentration of contaminants does not exceed 10 times the permissible exposure limit, according to CNESST. This filter is not suitable for oxygen-deficient atmospheres or high concentrations of gases or vapors. It is not recommended for sandblasting operations or environments heavily loaded with aerosols. For maximum effectiveness, pair this filter with a full-face or half-mask respirator that fits properly.
No, it is designed for low concentrations of acid gases. It must not be used if levels exceed the permissible limits set by CNESST.
Yes, it can reduce exposure to certain airborne biological particles such as mold or pathogens, but it does not guarantee complete protection against infections.
This filter is compatible with masks from the 6000, 7000, 7500, FF-400, and Ultimate FX series. It is not suitable for masks without standard side connectors.
