The Pioneer® "The Rock" model 5626 waterproof jacket, in high-visibility orange, protects workers exposed to rain and traffic. Made of 100% polyester woven in an oxford pattern with 300-denier yarns coated with polyurethane, it complies with the ANSI/ISEA 107-2020 class 3 type R and CSA Z96-22 class 2 level 2 standards (class 3 when worn with the matching VP5627 bib pants). Lightweight, breathable and durable, it combines style and functionality. Available in sizes from small (S) to quintuple extra-large (5XL) via the drop-down menu above. Design of The Rock jacket with half-mesh back and foldaway hood
This jacket offers superior tear- and abrasion-resistant properties. Its half-mesh back provides better ventilation and added comfort, complemented by a rear ventilation vent. It features two lower flap pockets and a hood that folds away into the collar. Its loose fit allows good freedom of movement. It closes with a front nylon zipper protected by a snap storm flap, and features retroreflective tape on the front, sides, back and arms. The taped, heat-sealed seams ensure maximum waterproofing.
Oxford 300D polyurethane waterproofing of the Pioneer jacket
The polyurethane-laminated polyester oxford jacket is made with 300-denier yarns, giving it a medium weight: light enough for comfort, sturdy enough for adequate protection. The manufacturer does not disclose the exact hydrostatic resistance; compared with similar products, it is estimated at around 5000 mm, i.e. resistance to a 5 m water column. During torrential rain with strong winds, polyurethane may become saturated and lose its waterproofing.
ANSI 107 and CSA Z96 high-visibility classification of the orange jacket
CSA Z96-22 class 2 level 2: high-visibility safety garment for workers operating near road traffic with a maximum speed of 80 km/h (low to moderate risk). Worn with the complementary VP5627 pants, the set reaches class 3 level 2, extending compliance in the presence of faster vehicles.
ANSI/ISEA 107-2020 class 3 type R: American standard for workers on roads or near moving vehicles and equipment. High-visibility safety garments feature reflective stripes visible from over 250 metres.
Visibility of fluorescent orange and silver stripes
Fluorescent orange is highly visible in daylight and under strong artificial lighting, offering high contrast against the background. It is less visible at night and in low light. The silver retroreflective stripes return light toward its source (flashlight, vehicle headlights, etc.) and provide maximum safety at dawn, dusk and at night, without increasing visibility in full daylight.

High-visibility garments must be worn when working on roadways and streets, to signal a worker's presence to drivers and vehicle operators. We recommend wearing this jacket with the matching VP5627 waterproof pants to reach class 3.
Restrictions and care of the Pioneer waterproof jacket
Restriction: this jacket provides no protection against flames or electric arcs. Hand wash in cold water with a mild detergent, inside out to reduce abrasion. Do not use bleach or fabric softener, do not tumble dry, iron or dry-clean.
