For surveying and geomatics professionals, safety and organization are paramount. This high-visibility orange surveyor vest made of 150 denier polyester woven twill (4.7 oz/yd², 160 g/m²) combines durability, comfort and storage. Compliant with the CSA Z96-22 standard, class 2 level 2 and the American ANSI/ISEA 107-2020, class 2, type P and R standard, it delivers optimal field visibility. Made by Pioneer (manufacturer code V1010150, model 6692) and available in sizes from S to 6XL (drop-down menu). This model is also available in high-visibility yellow (V6693) and red (V6683), and in low-visibility blue (V6692B) or black (V6692N).
Made of 150 denier twill polyester, this waterproof vest includes mesh ventilation openings under the arms for maximum freshness. It features a 50 mm (2 in) StarTech retroreflective tape alternating with fluorescent yellow stripes: 2 vertical stripes in front, 2 stripes crossing in an X on the back and one horizontal stripe at the waist. The heavy-duty brass snap-button front closure ensures a firm hold, and a D-ring access opening allows attachment of fall-protection equipment.
The vest offers exceptional storage:
Front: 2 radio straps, 1 chest pocket for radio or cell phone, 2 flap pockets with eyelets, 3 hook-and-loop closure pockets and 5 pencil slots.
Back: 1 ruler pocket and 1 large cargo pocket with zipper closure.
Inside: 2 large pockets and 1 small pocket.
Fluorescent orange is highly visible in daylight and under strong artificial lighting, with high contrast against most backgrounds; it is less visible at night and in low light (dawn, dusk). The silver-grey retroreflective stripes return light toward its source (flashlight, headlights): they offer maximum safety at dawn, dusk and night, but do not increase visibility in broad daylight. Class 2 targets workers operating near road traffic (maximum speed 80 km/h, low to moderate risk). Type R (Roadway) covers workers exposed to road traffic (construction, road maintenance) and type P (Public Safety) covers first responders (firefighters, police).
Application: surveying and worksite work, especially near traffic or heavy equipment, where precision and high visibility are essential. Restriction: ensure the vest is well fitted, clean and in good condition; replace it if torn, soiled or worn (dirty retroreflective material offers reduced visibility). Care: machine wash in cold water, no bleach, do not iron, tumble dry (always refer to the garment label).
It complies with the Canadian CSA Z96-22 standard, class 2 level 2, and the American ANSI/ISEA 107-2020 standard, class 2, type P and R.
16 pockets in total: on the front (radio/cell pocket, flap pockets with eyelets, hook-and-loop pockets, pencil slots), on the back (ruler pocket, large zippered cargo pocket) and inside (2 large + 1 small).
