Large HazMat chemical spill kit for corrosive or hazardous fluids, overpacked in a drum with screw lid.
Absorbency : 55 US gallons.
This kit is recommended for absorbing spills of corrosive, hazardous, inflammable or toxic chemicals (HazMat). Sorbents are color-coded yellow and signal the presence of a hazard. This large spill kit is suitable for manufacturing plants and construction sites.
This spill kit offers the best protection in case of an unknown spill. Handle spill and used sorbents with extreme caution.
2 pairs of gloves
2 pairs of goggles
5 disposable bag
1 36 "x 36" neoprene canvas.
1 yellow HDPE drum with screw lid.
The floating boom ends are sealed with metal rings. Booms are supplied with two metal carabiners connected to an inner cord, so several booms may be linked together. Floating booms are suitable for use on land or in water. They are especially useful to contain and direct a spill at the water surface.
Sorbent pads (also called sorbent sheets) are made of heavy-weight meltblown (nonwoven) polypropylene fibers. The fibers are sonic bonded in a grid of points, which gives the pads a typical dimpled texture. Pads are perforated lengthwise through their center, so they can be easily halved if needed. Sorbent pads offer the fastest absorption thanks to their large surface area.
The outer sleeve is made of circular knit fabric. The sock ends are sealed with metal clips. Socks are recommended for containing spills rather than absorbing them, given that they have a smaller contact area than pads and pillows.
The drum container is made of yellow high-density polyethylene (HDPE) and includes a large-threaded screw lid. The drum acts as an overpack for the absorbent materials, protecting them before use. It may also be used to store used absorbents, and to transport used absorbents for disposal. The drum is certified for the transport of hazardous materials.
