Keyed-different padlock with an integrated cable: each padlock opens with its own key, for the worker's personal lockout. The 31 in (0.8 m), 3 mm (0.12 in) stainless steel cable with an anti-UV PVC coating locks directly into the non-conductive red housing. It locks out electrical cabinets, gate valves or several handles at once. 6-pin cylinder, key retaining, built-in warning label.

This keyed-different padlock combines a lockout cable and a padlock in a single device: no need to buy a separate cable and padlock. Each padlock opens with its own key, which makes it the worker's personal padlock. The 31 in (0.8 m), 3 mm (0.12 in) diameter stainless steel cable has an anti-UV PVC coating that resists corrosion and chemicals. It is threaded through the points to be locked, even those that are hard to secure with a rigid device, then secured in the red housing, which is non-conductive and spark-proof. The 6-pin copper cylinder retains the key while the padlock is open.

Keyed different is the right choice for personal safety lockout. When an electrician gathers the handles of a cabinet or several valves in the same cable loop before maintenance, he or she keeps the key: no one else can remove that padlock while the worker is exposed. One worker, one padlock, one key that opens it: that is what makes keyed-different padlocks safer for personal protection.
The flexible cable is used on irregular isolation points or points that are hard to lock with a rigid device: electrical cabinets, gate valves, or several handles and levers gathered in a single loop. It is intended for industrial maintenance crews and electricians, as well as contractors who want a complete, easy-to-carry device. Its housing is non-conductive, but the metal cable is not electrically insulating protective equipment. Follow the applicable electrical procedure and approach distances. Follow the facility's written lockout program.
Shut down the equipment and isolate all hazardous energy sources according to the written procedure for that equipment. Thread the cable through the points to be locked, pull it tight so that no device can be operated, then secure it in the housing and remove the key. Keep the key with you throughout the job. Before starting work, dissipate or restrain stored energy and verify effective isolation according to the equipment procedure. Check the coating before each use and take the device out of service if the cable is frayed, kinked or stripped.
Each padlock opens with its own key. It is the usual choice for each worker's personal padlock in a lockout procedure.
No. The padlock is built into the housing: the cable locks directly into it with the key supplied.
The stainless steel cable is 31 in (0.8 m) long and 3 mm (0.12 in) in diameter.
The manufacturer states a non-conductive, spark-proof housing. The cable itself is PVC-coated stainless steel: follow your electrical procedure and approach distances.
Individually, cable included. This item is not stocked: allow 5 days for delivery.
For the electrician or maintenance technician who locks out a cabinet or a group of valves, plan for 3M Virtua Max safety glasses (YA11329) with clear lenses, Endura Pro cut- and impact-resistant gloves (G378GKGVBE), a Delta Plus Americana Peak T2 type 2 class E hardhat (TA222), a blue cotton ARC 2 flame-resistant coverall (V1766) and 3M Push-Ins 318-1001 earplugs (OA1001C).
To complete the lockout, add the Brady 179482 cable lockout (CACC179482), a mini device sold without cable, the 6 ft adjustable cable (CA4) lockout, the DANGER VERROUILLÉ NE PAS OPÉRER tags (CAET10) in packs of 25, the NE PAS FAIRE FONCTIONNER plastic tags (CAET4) in packs of 5 and the French “Notice” sign (EOAV333) asking people to follow the lockout protocol. To identify each worker on a padlock, also see the Master Lock photo labels (CAETS142), designed for its Zenex padlocks; their compatibility with this padlock is not confirmed.
