MSA vented bump cap with a 4-point suspension, providing light protection against impacts. Made of high-density polyethylene (HDPE) with perforated sides for better ventilation. This lightweight cap is ideal for meat processing plants, food processing and auto repairs. Available in three colors: white, blue and yellow. Please make your selection from the above menu.
Not approved by CSA — this lightweight cap does not offer the protection of a certified type 1/type 2 safety helmet (no electrical protection). For an environment requiring a rated hard hat, choose a CSA-certified model (see the suggestions below).
A bump cap is designed to protect the head against minor bumps: knocking against fixed objects, protrusions or low edges. It does not replace a rated safety helmet against falling objects. Its perforated sides ensure good airflow, making it comfortable for prolonged wear in hot or humid environments such as food processing rooms.
This lightweight cap is particularly suited to meat processing plants, food processing and auto repairs, where the risk comes mainly from bumping into low structures rather than falling objects. Its smooth HDPE surface is easy to clean, an asset in food environments.
Clean the shell and the suspension with lukewarm water and a mild soap such as dish soap. Regularly inspect the cap for any traces of cracking, splitting or discoloration, and replace any cap that has withstood a severe impact. Avoid any cleaning solution too aggressive that could damage the shell.
No. The TA88 is a lightweight bump cap not approved by CSA: it protects against minor impacts but does not offer the protection of a certified safety helmet (type 1/type 2) nor electrical protection. For a jobsite or environment requiring a rated hard hat, choose a CSA-certified model.
It protects the head against minor bumps against fixed objects (protrusions, low edges). It is ideal for food processing, meat plants and auto repairs, where the risk of falling objects is low.
The perforations provide ventilation and comfort during prolonged wear, especially in hot or humid environments.
If you need a rated hard hat, see the white North for food-industry use (TA89BC), the MSA V-Gard type 1 class E (TA80) and the vented V-Gard 500 type 1 class C (TA81) for hot days.
Under "Accessories" at the bottom of the page, complete your equipment with the MSA chin strap (TA80CS), the MSA 25 dB earmuffs (OP10129327) and the nylon faceshield holder (YP5006).
