The Pioneer® "The Rock" model 5629BK waterproof bib pants, in black, protect the legs of workers in low-risk areas such as parking lots and warehouses. Made of 100% polyester woven in an oxford pattern with 300-denier yarns coated with polyurethane, they comply with the ANSI/ISEA 107-2020 class 1 type O and CSA Z96-22 class 1 level 2 standards. Their distinctive feature: StarTech® retroreflective stripes on a black background, popular for their style and because black hides dirt better. Available in sizes from small (S) to quintuple extra-large (5XL) via the drop-down menu above. Pioneer® manufacturer code: V1082370, model 5629BK. Also available in orange (VP5627) and yellow (VP5629).
These bib pants are made of polyester woven in an oxford pattern with 300-denier yarns and a polyurethane coating, ensuring waterproofing and wind resistance. Their seams are taped and heat-sealed. Fitted with premium StarTech® reflective stripes on a black background, they increase your visibility in low light. They include side waist adjustments, quick-release buckle suspenders and leg hems with two snaps for a better fit.
The polyurethane-laminated polyester oxford bib pants are made with 300-denier yarns, giving them a medium weight: light enough for comfort, sturdy enough for adequate protection. The manufacturer does not disclose the exact hydrostatic resistance; compared with similar products, it is estimated at around 5000 mm, i.e. resistance to a 5 m water column. During torrential rain with strong winds, polyurethane may become saturated and lose its waterproofing.
CSA Z96-22 class 1 level 2: intended for workers operating in low-risk areas such as parking lots and warehouses.
ANSI/ISEA 107-2020 class 1 type O (Off-Road): type O designates garments providing daytime visibility, not designed for optimal visibility in low light, intended for off-road use. Here, retroreflective stripes on a black background distinguish these bib pants. Black garments are not commonly used for high visibility; they are mainly chosen for aesthetic reasons or to better conceal dirt.
The silver retroreflective stripes are highly visible in low natural or artificial light because they return light toward its source (flashlight, vehicle headlights, etc.). They provide maximum safety at dawn, dusk and at night, but do not increase visibility in full daylight. For work near road traffic, choose a high-visibility orange or yellow model instead.
These bib pants suit workers in low-risk areas (parking lots, warehouses) as well as outdoor activities such as camping, hiking or fishing. We recommend wearing them with the matching black jacket (VP5628N).
Restriction: these bib pants provide no protection against flames or electric arcs. Before wearing, check for tears or holes and make sure the bottom does not drag on the ground. Machine wash on a delicate cycle in cold water as per the care label. Do not use bleach, fabric softener or dry-cleaning; do not tumble dry, iron or expose to direct heat.
They comply with ANSI/ISEA 107-2020 class 1 type O (Off-Road) and CSA Z96-22 class 1 level 2, for low-risk areas.
Not recommended: for work near traffic, choose a high-visibility orange (VP5627) or yellow (VP5629) model. Black suits low-risk areas.
