The 3M 6004 cartridge for ammonia and methylamine is designed to provide targeted respiratory protection in industrial environments exposed to these specific gases. Compatible with 3M respiratory protection masks from the 6000, 7000 and FF-400 series, it ensures effective filtration and complies with NIOSH standards. Sold in pairs, it provides balanced and secure installation on dual-port masks.
No returnable if used. For more information about our return policy, please refer to the Orders and Returns.
Manufacturer: 3MMC, model 6004
CAUTION: This type of cartridge does not protect against carbon monoxide (CO) and carbon dioxide (CO₂). If there is a possibility that these gases are present in your work environment, other means of protection must be used.
This respiratory protection cartridge is specially designed to filter gases such as ammonia (NH₃) and methylamine (CH₃ NH₂), frequently encountered in chemical, pharmaceutical and agricultural industries. It installs easily on 3M respirator masks from the 6000, 7000 and FF-400 series, ensuring a perfect seal and protection that meets safety requirements. Its lightweight and compact design allows for prolonged wear without discomfort, even in intensive working conditions. Specialized respiratory protection for chemical environments.
Enhanced Chemical Safety.
Equipped with a high-performance activated carbon filter, this cartridge is compatible with half-face and full-face masks from the 3M range. It meets NIOSH standards for filtering ammonia and amine gases. Its ergonomic structure facilitates movement and reduces respiratory fatigue, while ensuring reliable protection against targeted gases.
Installation is done by simply snapping onto the side connectors of 3M masks from the 6000, 7000 and FF-400 series. No tools are required. It is essential to check that the cartridges are securely attached and that the seal is airtight to ensure optimal respiratory protection.
This type of cartridge is ideal for work in the chemical and food industries, laboratories and agriculture.
Do not use if the wearer has a beard or suffers from a condition that may prevent direct contact between the edge of the mask and the face. These cartridges do not protect against airborne particles. It is not recommended to use these cartridges if there is a concentration above the permitted limit of gases and vapors. Do not use when particles are released during sandblasting and aerosol concentrations exceed 10 times the exposure limit allowed by CNESST or any other applicable government regulation. This type of respiratory protection cartridge must only be used in areas that do not present a risk of oxygen deficiency.
Studies have shown that, in the case of contaminant mixtures, all contaminants are simultaneously absorbed on the surface of the carbon. When there is no more space, the most volatile solvent “breaks through” the cartridge. If the cartridges have not reached their saturation limit, they are reusable. It is recommended to store them in a sealed container or bag, since they absorb contaminants from the air even when not worn. The cartridges are disposable, so there is no maintenance. It is recommended to follow the limits established by the manufacturer.
Use these cartridges only in well-ventilated environments and within recommended exposure limits. Do not use in oxygen-deficient atmospheres or in the presence of gases not filterable by this type of cartridge. Always check compatibility with your 3M respirator mask and wear full personal protective equipment.
Lifespan depends on the intensity of exposure to gases. It is recommended to replace the cartridges as soon as the odor becomes noticeable or according to the manufacturer’s instructions.
No, this cartridge is exclusively designed to filter ammonia and methylamine. For organic vapors or particles, a suitable cartridge or filter must be used.
Yes, provided that the gases present are exclusively ammonia or methylamine and that concentrations comply with permissible exposure limits.
