The 3M Bayonet Gas and Vapor Cartridge 6007 (organic vapor, acid gas, mercury vapor) is NIOSH approved against certain organic vapours, mercury vapour, chlorine, hydrogen sulfide and sulfur dioxide. It is sold as a pair (bag of 2 cartridges) and attaches with a bayonet connection.
It fits 3M bayonet facepieces, for example the 7500 Series reusable half-mask, medium size (R7502) and the 6000 Series full facepiece, medium size (R6800). See also the 60927 cartridge/filter with P100 filter (R60927).

Compatibility (bayonet connection)
Compatible facepieces: 3M half facepieces 6000, 6500 and 7500 Series; 3M full facepieces 6000, 7800S and FF-400 Series; Scott 3M AV-3000 full facepieces (HT, SureSeal). This cartridge is not suitable for Secure Click facepieces.
Limitations and safe use
- Discard the cartridge within 50 hours of use against mercury vapour, or according to the service life for organic vapours, chlorine, hydrogen sulfide or sulfur dioxide, or when the odour of the gases becomes noticeable, whichever comes first. Mercury vapour has no odour (3M user instructions attached).
- NIOSH approved with the named 3M bayonet facepieces. Do not use in atmospheres immediately dangerous to life or health (IDLH) or in oxygen-deficient atmospheres.
- Establish a cartridge change schedule.
- For occupational use only.
- Use within a respiratory protection program that meets CSA Z94.4; read the 3M user instructions before use.
Cartridge replacement
Establish a change schedule based on the contaminants and concentrations at the workstation. Against mercury vapour, which has no odour, the 50-hour limit applies: never rely on odour. Always replace both cartridges at the same time.

It is NIOSH approved against certain organic vapours, mercury vapour, chlorine, hydrogen sulfide and sulfur dioxide. For acid gases, this covers only chlorine, hydrogen sulfide and sulfur dioxide.
When should it be replaced against mercury?
Within 50 hours of use at the latest, because mercury vapour has no odour.
Does it fit Secure Click facepieces?
No. For a Secure Click facepiece, the equivalent is the D8009 cartridge.
