The Superior Chemstop™ glove (manufacturer's code L6043) is a latex glove 43 mils thick and 24 in (61 cm) long, sold in pairs in sizes XL (10) and XXL (11). It offers excellent flexibility and dexterity while forming an unrivalled barrier against many chemical products. Its extra-long cuffs provide unmatched protection in case of overflow, spillage or splatter. Its resistance rating is EN388 4011: abrasion 4/4, cut 0/5, tear 1/4 and puncture 1/4.
Superior manufacturer's code: L6043
This glove is recommended for applications where workers need good flexibility and dexterity as well as a strong barrier against chemical products. Its long cuffs ensure worker safety in case of overflow, spillage or splatter. We suggest wearing a cotton liner underneath to help absorb perspiration.
Natural rubber latex properties vary according to the additives dispersed through the compounding, but the overarching characteristics of natural latex are fixed because the polymer structure is always the same. This fixed polymer structure delivers, among other things, its significant elasticity, flexibility, high tensile strength and excellent barrier performance against viruses and blood-borne pathogens. Compared with its synthetic counterparts, natural latex offers poor resistance to oils, fats and hydrocarbons, but resists well to a 10% concentration of nitric acid, a 36% concentration of hydrochloric acid and a 50% concentration of sulphuric acid. As long as the manufacturer's limitations on use are respected, the glove remains comfortable and offers good tactile sensitivity.
This glove is recommended for lab work, as long as no oily or greasy substances or hydrocarbons are used. It may be used in pharmaceuticals, the agri-food and food processing industries, canning plants, maintenance, sandblasting and chemical plants.
Natural rubber latex contains latex proteins, a known allergen, so these gloves should not be used where there is any chance of contact with people allergic to latex. Contact with these proteins can lead to a reaction or the development of a Type-I allergy, a quick and sometimes deadly reaction (from skin irritation to anaphylactic reaction). These gloves must never be used near high voltage. Finally, latex degrades quickly in contact with most organic solvents and hydrocarbons.
This glove is reusable, but we strongly recommend periodic maintenance to avoid contamination. To wash them, wear them as if working and wash your hands with soapy water as usual. If needed, use bleach to remove stains or more tenacious agents. Turn the gloves inside out to dry them completely.
It forms an excellent chemical barrier (nitric acid 10%, hydrochloric 36%, sulphuric 50%) and protects against overflow thanks to its 24 in long cuffs. It offers poor protection against oils, fats and hydrocarbons.
It is available in sizes XL (10) and XXL (11), sold in pairs.
