The Adflo system continuously delivers filtered air into the compatible Versaflo helmet or hood, offering superior respiratory protection compared to filtering facepiece respirators in welding, grinding and confined space environments. This assembly replaces reference R35-3499-01. The belt must be ordered separately.
The Adflo blower is compatible with Versaflo hoods and helmets from the S-Series, TR-300 and TR-600. Replacement filters and accessories are available at Sylprotec.
The 35-1499-01 Adflo turbo assembly is the core of 3M's motorized respiratory protection system for welders. Without a belt, it attaches directly to the worker's gear or work harness. The Adflo blower draws in ambient air and filters it through a NIOSH P100 particulate filter, providing protection against welding fumes, metal dust, and aerosols. The filtered airflow creates a cool and comfortable breathing environment, reducing welder fatigue during long shifts.
This assembly is particularly suited for arc welding, MIG/MAG welding, TIG welding, plasma cutting, and grinding in industrial settings. Shipbuilding, heavy metal fabrication, oil and gas, and automotive repair are typical users. It is also used in high-altitude environments where reduced atmospheric pressure makes conventional respirators less effective over time.
The Adflo blower requires regular maintenance to maintain performance. Replace the particulate filter when breathing resistance increases or per manufacturer recommendation. Clean the housing exterior with a damp cloth. The lithium-ion battery should be charged per 3M instructions. Perform an airflow test before each use to confirm proper motor function. Keeping a replacement filter on site helps avoid unplanned work stoppages.
The R35-1499-01 assembly includes: Adflo turbo blower, NIOSH high-efficiency filter (magenta), pre-filter, spark arrestor, lithium-ion battery, smart charger, self-adjusting breathing tube with quick-release, and airflow indicator. The belt is not included and must be ordered separately.
The Adflo blower is compatible with the entire 3M Versaflo range, including S-Series hoods (S-107, S-207, S-307, S-407, S-507, S-607, S-707, S-757, S-805, S-807), Versaflo TR-300 and TR-600 helmets, as well as Speedglas systems with Adflo.
The included lithium-ion battery provides 4 to 8 hours of runtime depending on the selected airflow level and operating conditions. The included smart charger shows the charge status and automatically cuts off when the battery is fully charged.
