Due North® winter boot heel crampons are traction aids specially designed to make walking on ice safer while maintaining driving ability. Unlike soles that cover the entire foot, this model focuses solely on the heel, where the risk of slipping is highest when stepping forward.

They are suitable for all types of flat-heeled shoes, winter boots, hiking boots, or work shoes and are particularly suitable for people who frequently alternate between walking and driving.

Properties of rubber and tungsten carbide heel cleats

These cleats are made of high-strength flexible rubber that retains its elasticity down to -40°C. The one-piece design stretches easily and installs quickly on the heel of the boot, without straps or complex mechanisms.

Grip is provided by four (4) Ice Diamond™ tungsten carbide spikes, positioned exclusively under the heel. This configuration provides:

• increased stability when leaning back;
• safe driving, as the front of the foot remains free to press the pedals.

Two replacement spikes are included to extend the life of the product in case of wear or loss.

They are suitable for most flat-heeled shoes and boots. However, they are not suitable for boots with high, narrow, or unstable heels.

4. Can the spikes be replaced?

Yes. The product comes with two replacement Ice Diamond™ spikes, which extend the life of the cleats in case of wear or accidental loss.

5. Should the crampons be removed when entering indoor areas?

Yes. As with any traction aid, it is recommended that crampons be removed on smooth or polished indoor surfaces to avoid the risk of slipping and to protect the surfaces.
