For a maintenance crew shutting down a machine, a mechanic servicing a motor or a supervisor who needs to know who applied a lockout and when the work should finish. The tag accompanies the lockout device and padlock; it never replaces them.
Fill out the tag before applying it and check that it stays visible. Keep the pack clean and dry. Replace a tag with an illegible message, a tear or a damaged grommet. A tag must only be removed by the person named on it.
The French message is DANGER NE PAS FAIRE DÉMARRER.
Each pack contains 5 tags.
A pencil, pen or marker works.
They are made of 15 mil plastic.
The metal grommet has a 3/8 in / 0.95 cm opening.
For a worker applying these tags while preparing maintenance, plan for a Honeywell Everest Class E hard hat (TA119R), an orange FR-Tech Pioneer arc-rated vest (V7728), uncorded Honeywell Firmfit earplugs (OA1105), 3M SecureFit amber eyewear (YASF203) and Endura cowhide fitters gloves (G301). This PPE protects during preparation and maintenance; it never replaces de-energizing the equipment.
To lock out the isolation point along with the tag, see the adjustable cable lockout device (CA4), the rotary electric plug lock (CA5), the rotary higher-voltage plug lock (CA6), the electrical switch device (CA7) and the double-pole circuit breaker lockout (CAC2).
