These cost-effective gloves are made with split leather, a safety cuff and a thin cotton-knit back of hand. They are men's one-size-fits-all and sold in pairs.
The split-leather section covers the palm side of the hand, fingertips, index finger, thumb and knuckles. The palm is lined with a thin cotton layer to help absorb excess moisture during work.
To compare similar models, see our leather gloves section.
Split leather comes from slitting thicker hides into two sheets. The grain is the outside surface of the leather, while split leather comes from the inside layer. This material is quite resistant to abrasion, thicker, and may have a more raw appearance with more irregularities.
The quality of the materials used in their construction makes them a cost-effective product. They are especially useful for companies with high glove consumption, particularly for general work where a simple and affordable leather glove is needed.
These gloves offer very limited protection against cold, heat, cuts, tears and puncture. They cannot eliminate the risks of frostbite, burns, injuries or lacerations. For a specific hazard, choose a glove with protection matched to the actual risk.
Washing these gloves with water and soap is not recommended, as it can remove the natural oils in the leather, make it stiff and cause it to become brittle. If the nature of the work requires cleaning, dry cleaning is the preferred option.
