Concrobium™ encapsulating fungistat and mildewstat with environmentally friendly mineral salts for mold control and prevention.
Sold in 1 gal US (3.78 L) bottle.
Concrobium™ manufacturer product code: Concrobium Mold Control
This product is approved by Health Canada and has been assigned a drug identification number (DIN: 02269996) under the Food and Drugs Act. This product has also been certified by the US EPA (Environmental Protection Agency).
Encapsulating fungistats are a safe and efficient method to prevent further growth of mold and mildew. They dry directly on the treated surfaces and form an invisible antimicrobial shield that does not allow fungi to continue growing. A fungistat is the third and final step to mold remediation. It will be effective only if the surface has already been cleaned and disinfected. Concrobium™ Mold Control encapsulating fungistat is ideal for restoration professionals, be they specialized in mold remediation or disaster recovery clean-up.
This product has been designed for porous (carpets, textiles), semi-porous (cement, wood) and non-porous (plastic, metal) materials. It leaves a fresh smell since it traps odor-causing spores.
Dilution:
No dilution required, the Concrobium™ encapsulating product has been designed as a ready-made product.
Coverage:
The approximate coverage rate heavily depends on the means used for application, on the porosity of the treated material and the amount of product applied. With a pump sprayer, the coverage rate is about21400 ft2/gal US.
Procedures:
The manufacturer recommends the use of a paint brush, a paint roll, a hand pump sprayer (SACC1, SACC2) or an airless spray system to apply the Concrobium™ encapsulating product. For large open spaces and difficult to reach places, the manufacturer suggest using their proprietary mold control cold fogger, which rapidly applies an even mist.
This product can be applied on virtually any type of material.
This fungistat is effective against many types of fungi, mold and mildew, such as: Aspergillus niger (black mold on fruits and vegetables), Penicillium variabile (mold on wheat and other cereals), Penicillium citrinum (molds on decomposing citrus), Trichophyton mentagrophytes (causes athlete’s foot, ringworm, jock itch) and Aureobasidium pullulans (causes respiratory diseases and asthma).
Limitations:
This product is not harmful to human health, since it contains no bleaching agents, no alcohols, no ammonia and emits no toxic fumes whatsoever. The manufacturer cautioned, however, to never use this product with bleaching agents that contain sodium hypochlorite (such as REMOVE IT), since bleach reduces the potency of the Concrobium™ proprietary salts.
Storage:
Keep out of the reach of children at a room temperature ranging between 39 °F (4 °C) and 100 °F (38 °C). In the event that the product freezes, thaw it at room temperature and shake gently to remix components.
