Economical and versatile, this high-visibility yellow Pioneer 6931 traffic vest stands out for its one-size-adjustable fit using hook-and-loop (velcro) straps at the front and shoulders, for comfortable adjustment across body types. Made of lightweight, breathable knit polyester, its 5-point detachable ("tear-away") design allows quick removal in an emergency, making it a reference on construction sites. Compliant with the CSA Z96-15 standard, class 2 level 2, type P and R (ANSI/ISEA 107). Made by Pioneer (manufacturer code V1021061, model 6931), available in sizes from SM to 4X5XL (drop-down menu). Also available in a high-visibility orange version (V6930).
The front of the vest is one-size adjustable and the shoulders close with hook-and-loop (velcro) straps, as do the horizontal StarTech retroreflective stripes at the waist, velcro-backed and detachable. The 5-point detachable design releases the vest quickly if it snags, making it permitted on construction sites. The back features a D-ring slot to pass the dorsal D-ring of a fall-arrest harness.
The vest offers 5 outer pockets, 4 of them resealable, providing plenty of storage for personal effects. It also includes a clear ID card pocket and an attachment strap for a two-way radio. Practical storage that keeps your hands free and documents visible.
This orange vest features 50 mm (2 in) silver StarTech retroreflective stripes alternating with fluorescent yellow stripes: 2 vertical stripes in front, 2 stripes crossing in an X on the back and one horizontal stripe at the waist. Fluorescent yellow (lime green) is highly visible in daylight and in low natural light (dawn, dusk); being paler than orange, it stays visible at night without matching the reflective stripes. The silver retroreflective stripes return light toward its source (flashlight, headlights) and offer maximum safety at dawn, dusk and night. Class 2 targets workers near road traffic (low to moderate risk); types P and R cover first responders and road-traffic exposure respectively.
Application: any environment where the worker is near moving vehicles or equipment (cars, trucks, forklifts) and must be spotted early by drivers. Restriction: the hook-and-loop straps may catch clothing, scarves or accessories, so the vest is not recommended over delicate garments. This vest does not protect against flames or electric arcs. Care: machine wash in cold water, tumble dry at low temperature, no bleach, no ironing and no dry cleaning.
