Manufacturer code (Matrix): EB100. This fan-forced industrial heater warms a shop, a garage or a building under construction when the main heating is not enough. On 240 V, it delivers 4800 W, or 16,380 BTU/h; on a 208 V supply, it delivers 3600 W. Its steel spiral fan, brazed to metal-sheathed elements, ensures maximum heat transfer, and its built-in thermostat cycles the unit on and off to maintain the desired temperature. It is designed to be set on the floor and is not intended for household or residential use.
The EB100 serves as supplementary floor heating in shops, garages and buildings under construction or renovation that have a 240 V receptacle. To heat an office or a small household room on 120 V, choose instead the Matrix oscillating heater (HEA597) or the Matrix infrared heater (HEB184), restricted to household use.

Before start-up, check that the receptacle is a grounded 240 V NEMA 6-30R receptacle, on a 30 A circuit dedicated to the unit: the heater draws 20 A. No adapter exists for this plug and none should be used; never remove the plug and do not use an extension cord. Set the unit on the floor on a stable surface, leave at least 5.5 in (14 cm) between its sides or rear and the walls, and keep combustible materials at least 3 ft (0.9 m) from the front and top. Do not use it outdoors, in a bathroom or a laundry area, or where gasoline, paint or flammable liquids are used or stored, and do not leave it running unattended for long periods.
Turn the thermostat off and unplug the unit before cleaning it. Remove interior dust with a vacuum cleaner and crevice tool, then wipe the cabinet with a soft, lightly damp cloth, without spraying liquid or wetting the heating element. If the overheat protection shuts the unit off, turn it off, unplug it, let it cool for 15 minutes and remove any object blocking airflow before plugging it back in. Off-season, store it clean and dry in a plastic bag, in a cool, dry place.
A grounded 240 V NEMA 6-30R receptacle (250 V, 30 A), on a 30 A circuit dedicated to the unit. It does not plug into a regular 120 V outlet.
It delivers 3600 W on a 208 V supply, and 4800 W (16,380 BTU/h) on 240 V.
No. The manual states it is not for household or residential use: it is an industrial floor heater.
The overheat protection may have shut it off: unplug it, let it cool for 15 minutes, clear the surroundings, then plug it back in.
Yes. The built-in thermostat cycles the unit on and off to maintain the chosen temperature.
For the shop or job site worker, plan for the foam nitrile-coated cut-resistant winter gloves (GS18WTFN) with waterproof membrane, the ParaActiv Pro™ touchscreen-friendly Kevlar (GSCXTAPVC) and steel knit cut-resistant winter gloves with PVC coating, the Showa Atlas latex gloves (G406XL) with acrylic lining, the 3M Solus clear anti-fog safety glasses (YAS1101) and the Ergodyne N-Ferno 6980 hand warmer muff (VNF6980). Also add Zenith hand warmers (VCHM20) and toe warmers (VCHO20).
For fire safety and emergencies near the heater, add the 10 lb ABC dry chemical portable extinguisher (EXABC10) with wall hook, the 20 lb ABC dry chemical portable extinguisher (EXABC20) for large areas, the emergency sign (EI700) “Extincteur incendie”, the Worksafe 6 V waterproof work light (LL03) and the first aid kit (TR03M) for 26 to 50 workers.
