For an electrician locking out a panel, a maintenance crew shutting down a machine or a supervisor who needs to identify who applied a padlock. The tag attaches to the padlock through its grommet and complements the lockout; it never replaces it.
Fill out the tag before applying it and check that it stays visible. Keep the pack clean and dry. Replace a tag with an illegible message, a tear or a damaged grommet. A tag must only be removed by the person authorized to do so.
The French message is DANGER ÉQUIPEMENT VERROUILLÉ NE PAS OPÉRER.
Each pack contains 25 tags.
A pencil, pen or marker works.
They are made of 10 mil DuraPly synthetic plastic.
The metal grommet has a 3/8 in / 0.95 cm opening for attachment.
For a worker applying these tags while preparing maintenance, plan for Solus clear anti-fog safety glasses (YAS1101), impact-resistant mechanic's gloves (GMXVSB), a Delta Plus Independence high-visibility helmet (TA14LRHV), an orange Ground Force flame-retardant traffic vest (VV510FR) and corded Howard Leight disposable earplugs (OA1100C). This PPE protects during preparation and maintenance; it never replaces de-energizing the equipment.
To complete the system, see the French DANGER ÉQUIPEMENT VERROUILLÉ tag (CAET6), the French DANGER NE PAS OUVRIR tag (CAET7), the ball valve lockout (CAV9), the nylon cable lockout device (CACV2) and the red American Lock keyed-different padlock (CA1A-R).
