Aluminum green arrow sign for fire department connections

This aluminum sign with a white arrow on a green background is used to direct responders toward the location of a single or double fire department connection, also called a Siamese connection. It must be installed next to at least one red NFPA-compliant sign so the intended fire protection equipment is properly identified. Several formats and materials are available in the drop-down menu; customer service can also help you choose the right option for the installation. This directional sign helps improve visibility on building facades, technical access points and areas where several fire protection devices are present.

Product code: EI300

NFPA 170-2015 use for the green arrow fire connection sign

The current product sheet states that this sign complies with NFPA 170-2015 only when displayed with at least one other NFPA-compliant sign on a red background. It is therefore a directional indication, not a complete identification sign when used by itself. It can point toward a sprinkler connection, standpipe, dry riser, valve, shutoff or other firefighting equipment.

Features of the aluminum white arrow sign on green background

The panel is made of aluminum with a thickness of 0.040 in. The listed formats are 12 x 12 in and 18 x 18 in. This sign can be ordered with a standard UV-resistant coating or with an engineer grade retro-reflective coating made with glass microbeads, which also includes UV protection. The sign is not pre-drilled.

Applications for directional fire department connection signage

This sign is suitable for commercial, industrial, institutional and multi-residential buildings where the fire department connection is not immediately visible from the emergency access route. It is useful for pointing toward a side entrance, secondary wall, technical room or area where several connections are grouped together. It complements red identification signs and helps reduce hesitation during an emergency response.

Special-order format options for the directional fire sign

Other formats may be available by special order. Please contact customer service for sign formats other than those offered in the boxes above, as well as for English or bilingual signs. Some special orders may require additional lead time, so it is best to confirm the need before the final installation.

Suggestions to complement your fire protection signage

You may also need complementary safety equipment. See these items; to identify a double fire department connection serving automatic sprinklers, choose the Siamese sign (EI301); for a single fire department connection, use the single model (EI302); for a standpipe or dry riser setup, add the standpipe sign (EI303); and for a combined system, use the combined sign (EI304).

Under "Accessories" at the bottom of the page. If you are looking for additional equipment, consider the following products: to locate a sprinkler control point, the valve sign (EI305) is a strong complement; for a manual gas shutoff point, use the gas sign (EI306); for basement or first-floor direction, choose the basement model (EI301SRC); and to guide users toward a fire hose, complete the set with the hose model (EI701).
