The Allegro heavy duty yellow extension cord, 50 ft / 15.24 m, is designed to reliably power the standard fans and blowers used during confined space work. It operates at 15 A / 120 V with a 12/3 AWG wire gauge and is weather resistant across a temperature range of -40°F to 140°F (-40°C to 60°C). Its outer jacket is flame, water and oil resistant while remaining flexible on the job site. This cord meets OSHA specifications and is UL compliant. It is ideal for use with standard fans or blowers such as the RA9539-12 fan and the RA9533-15 and RA9533-25 models. Allegro Industries manufacturer's code: 9540-50.

Important: this cord is not explosion-proof. It must never be used in an explosive atmosphere or to power an explosion-proof blower. For spaces classified as explosion hazards, use the appropriate explosion-proof version instead (RA9540-50EX in 125 V or RA9540-60EX in 220 V).

Can this cord be used in a confined space with an explosion risk?

No. The RA9540-50 is a standard, non-explosion-proof cord. In an explosive atmosphere, its connectors could produce an ignition spark. Use the explosion-proof cord in 125 V (RA9540-50EX) or the 220 V version (RA9540-60EX), designed for these classified environments.

Which blowers can this cord power?

It is suitable for standard 120 V fans and blowers rated at 15 A or less, such as the 12" axial fan (RA9539-12) and the compact 8" axial blower (RA9533). Always check the rated amperage of your device.

Can two extension cords be connected together?

It is possible to join two cords of the same gauge, but you must then monitor the total voltage drop and never exceed the 15 A rated amperage. For long distances, prefer a single cord of the right gauge rather than several cords in series.
