The Peakworks contractor harness with 6 D-rings is the most versatile harness in the line, certified class A, P, L and E. It combines 1 dorsal D-ring (A, fall arrest), 2 lateral hip D-rings (P, work positioning), 2 shoulder D-rings (E, recovery and confined-space access) and 1 frontal sternal D-ring (L, ladder climbing and controlled descent). The chest and leg straps are joined by interlocking buckles. It is the ideal choice when a single worker must switch between work at heights, ladder climbing and confined-space entry.
Peakworks product code: V8002060 or model FBH-10000. Meets ANSI Z359.11-2014 and CSA Z259.10-12 requirements. Universal size harness, designed for confined-space work, ladder climbing, controlled descent as well as construction and maintenance work.
This harness can support a worker weighing up to 400 lb (181.4 kg), including clothing, tools and equipment. The shoulder D-rings make it easier to extract a worker from a confined space, while the sternal D-ring secures climbing and descent along a ladder or access system.
The straps of this harness are made of polyester, a material that offers better resistance to acidic chemicals. The front straps at chest level carry the sternal D-ring used to connect to a ladder. The strap ends have plastic tips to prevent fraying and make adjustment easier, even with gloves. The identification and certification labels are sewn onto the rear strap, on the left side.
This vest-style harness brings together fall arrest, positioning, climbing and rescue functions in a single piece of equipment.
The worker is responsible for performing a routine inspection before each use. The worker must note any sign of degradation, wear, malfunction or breakage, and replace the harness at the first sign of failure.
This harness should also be inspected periodically by a qualified person other than the worker. The frequency varies by manufacturer (from every 90 days to yearly) and should increase in harsh conditions. The recommended lifetime of a harness is 5 years. Any equipment that has withstood a fall or an impact must be taken out of service. Sylprotec offers a harness inspection service; to learn more, see the Services tab.
For cleaning, use a mild soap and lukewarm water (37 °C). Do not use bleach or abrasive or chemical products. If your harness is too dirty or contaminated, it is time to replace it. Air dry, without excessive heat, in a clean environment. Avoid prolonged exposure to sunlight and to any source of contamination.
The dorsal D-ring is for fall arrest, the 2 hip D-rings for positioning, the 2 shoulder D-rings for confined-space recovery and the sternal D-ring for climbing up and down a ladder.
Yes. The shoulder D-rings are specifically designed to connect a Y-yoke and allow the vertical extraction of a worker from a confined space with a tripod or davit.
It comes in universal size and supports a worker with a total weight of 400 lb (181.4 kg), including clothing, tools and equipment.
To complete your fall protection and confined-space operations, also consider a self-locking carabiner (FPAM88), a confined-space kit with winch (FPLRK3), a yoke Y-lanyard (FPLRKL), a davit for confined spaces (FPLRK4), a concrete connector (FPAF075N), a mandatory-use sign (ECO130), a storage bag (FPBAG) and a tool strap (FPLA9900).
