No returnable if used. For more information about our return policy, please refer to the Orders and Returns.
The 3M GVP-117 vinyl waist belt is designed to support and comfortably position the motorized blower unit of GVP Series powered air-purifying respirator (PAPR) systems. Its vinyl construction allows for quick cleaning and decontamination between uses, making it a preferred choice in contamination-controlled environments: cleanrooms, pharmaceutical laboratories, food processing facilities and precision manufacturing settings.
Lightweight and compact, the GVP-117 belt secures around the operator's waist to maintain the PAPR system in an optimal position, freeing the hands for delicate handling tasks. Its single-piece vinyl design facilitates visual inspection before each use and reduces cross-contamination risks associated with porous surfaces or difficult-to-clean seams.
3M manufacturer code: 7000126101, model: GVP-117
The belt is sold individually and is compatible with 3M GVP Series PAPR systems. Visually inspect before each use for signs of wear, cracking or deformation of the vinyl. Store away from aggressive chemicals, excessive heat and direct sunlight to preserve the material properties.
Cleanrooms and pharmaceutical laboratories: the smooth vinyl surface decontaminates quickly with common disinfectants. The absence of exposed seams reduces contamination retention areas, which is essential in ISO-classified environments.
Food processing and agri-food industry: compatible with light clean-in-place (CIP) protocols. The black color facilitates visual detection of any material degradation, meeting equipment traceability requirements in production areas.
Precision manufacturing and electronics: the belt does not generate particles or fibrous contamination. Suitable for environments where particle control is an operational requirement.
General industrial maintenance: during interventions on pressurized equipment or in confined spaces, the PAPR belt frees the operator's hands and maintains the motorized unit in a stable position, reducing fatigue during extended work.
The belt design evenly distributes the weight of the PAPR unit around the waist, avoiding pressure concentration on the shoulders or back during extended use.
The low profile of the GVP-117 is compatible with simultaneous wear of full protective clothing (coveralls, cleanroom gowns) without layering constraints.
Vinyl resists common disinfectants based on isopropyl alcohol, quaternary ammonium compounds and low-concentration chlorine. Avoid aromatic solvents and concentrated acids which may degrade the material.
Inspect before each use: any sign of cracking, abnormal discoloration or deformation requires immediate replacement.
Clean with a damp cloth or non-abrasive disinfectant wipe. Dry before storing to prevent microbial growth on wet surfaces.
The GVP-117 belt is designed specifically for 3M GVP Series PAPR systems. It is not interchangeable with accessories from the Versaflo TR-300 or TR-600 series, which use their own mounting systems and harnesses. For Versaflo TR-300 systems, refer to the corresponding Series S accessories. Verify compatibility with the exact model of your GVP motorized unit before ordering.
The GVP-117 vinyl belt is suitable for moderately contamination-controlled environments. For ISO 7 and cleaner rooms, verify with your quality manager that the vinyl material complies with your facility's specific decontamination protocol. Vinyl does not generate fibers and decontaminates easily, but its classification for ultra-clean rooms (ISO 4 and below) must be validated locally according to regulatory requirements.
The GVP-117 belt is an integral part of the GVP PAPR system and must be included in the employer's respiratory protection program in compliance with CNESST and NIOSH requirements. Each user must receive training on proper belt wearing, pre-use inspection points and cleaning procedures. The belt must be replaced immediately if signs of degradation are observed. Maintenance and inspection records must be kept in accordance with the facility's respiratory protection program.
To complete your cleanroom or workshop equipment with the GVP-117 belt, the Keep Kleen 8 mils nitrile gloves (GL7008), CFIA-approved, offer optimal protection against biological contamination, while the gloves 3.8 mils (GL7005) are suited for light handling in controlled environments. The Nemesis clear lens eyewear (YA3297) provides eye protection without visibility reduction in indoor settings. For supplementary hearing protection, the earplugs 3M 1100 uncorded 29 dB (O1100) and the Classic 312-1201 (OA101) effectively complete acoustic protection during interventions in noisy areas. Under "Accessories" at the bottom of the page.
For PAPR accessories in the Versaflo family, the Versaflo V300 air control valve (RV300) provides precise airflow control, the Series S extension tube (RBT30) ensures flexible connection between the motorized unit and the hood, and the Versaflo TR-300 unit (RVTR302N) forms the heart of the air purification system.
