The 3M 8293 P100 respirator mask with Cool Flow™ valve is an effective solution for professionals exposed to airborne particles, including oily and toxic particulates. This disposable mask is certified compliant with NIOSH standard 42 CFR 84, guaranteeing superior filtration and optimal respiratory safety. Thanks to its ergonomic design and Cool Flow™ exhalation valve, it offers extended comfort even in intensive work conditions.
This mask is designed for long-duration tasks. It provides reliable protection against solid, liquid, biological particles, those from oily and non-oily aerosols, radioactive particles (uranium and plutonium), heavy metal particles (lead, cadmium, arsenic), and carcinogenic particles (4,4’-methylenedianiline (MDA)). It is widely used in the pharmaceutical field. NIOSH-approved masks (N95, N100, R95, R100, P95, and P100) offer sufficient protection against silica, the second leading cause of chronic respiratory issues after asbestos.
This respirator helps reduce inhalation exposure to certain airborne biological particles, such as mold, Bacillus anthracis (anthrax), Mycobacterium tuberculosis (Koch’s bacillus) responsible for tuberculosis, and pandemic flu strains (H5N1, H1N1), among others. However, it cannot completely eliminate the risk of infection, illness, or disease. Due to the nature of certain biological contaminants, government agencies have not been able to determine exposure limits for all types of contaminants.
This 3M P100 respirator mask is equipped with an advanced electrostatic filter that captures up to 99.97% of airborne particles, including fine dust, metal fumes, and oily mists. The Cool Flow™ valve reduces heat and moisture buildup, making breathing easier and improving comfort. Its contoured shape ensures a secure fit on the face while remaining compatible with safety glasses.
To properly install the 3M 9293 P100 disposable mask, follow the recommended adjustment steps. Place the mask over the nose and mouth, then adjust the elastic straps behind the head to ensure optimal seal. Check that the mask edges conform to the face contours and perform a seal test to ensure effective respiratory protection against hazardous particles.
This product is disposable and therefore requires no maintenance. It is designed with an estimated lifespan of 40 hours or 30 days, whichever comes first. These figures are for informational purposes only and should not be the sole tool for estimating mask life. Since each work environment is different, it is important to respect the limits established by the manufacturer.
Use this P100 disposable mask in industrial environments, during sanding, welding, or handling chemical products. It is particularly suitable for settings where airborne particles pose a health risk. Do not use this mask in atmospheres containing less than 19.5% oxygen or in the presence of toxic gases or vapors that cannot be filtered by disposable masks.
Do not use if the wearer has a beard or suffers from a condition that prevents direct contact between the mask edge and the face. Do not use if you have a respiratory illness such as asthma or emphysema. It is not recommended to use this mask when handling spray paint, oil-based aerosols, gases, vapors, asbestos, particles released during sandblasting, or aerosol concentrations exceeding 10 times the permissible exposure limit set by CNESST or any other applicable government regulation. This respirator mask should only be used in areas without oxygen deficiency risks.
When the mask is properly fitted and the qualitative seal test is successful, this respirator provides a protection factor of 10. The worker may therefore be exposed to certain airborne contaminants at concentrations up to 10 times the established exposure limit. If needed, contact our customer service for further details.
No, this is a disposable mask designed for temporary use. If used in environments containing oil aerosols, replace it after 40 hours of use or 30 days, or as soon as it becomes damaged.
Yes, its contoured design allows optimal compatibility with protective eyewear without compromising the seal.
No, the P100 mask is designed to filter solid and liquid particles but does not protect against gases or chemical vapors. For such risks, a cartridge respirator is recommended.
