This North multi-gas cartridge is designed to protect workers exposed to a wide range of chemical substances. Thanks to its activated carbon and advanced filtration technology, it guarantees safe breathing against organic vapors, acid gases and solvent mixtures. It adapts perfectly to North respiratory masks, ensuring comfort and maximum sealing.
The inside of the cartridge contains activated carbon, one of the most economical and effective air purification methods on the market. The 75SCL cartridges have been designed to protect workers from acid gases, organic vapors and a myriad of other contaminants in the air. In fact, this “multi-gas” cartridge protects against chlorine, chlorine dioxide (ClO₂), hydrogen chloride (HCl), hydrogen fluoride (HF), sulfur dioxide (SO₂), ammonia (NH₃), methylamine (CH₃NH₂) and formaldehyde (CH₂O).
Note that acid gas cartridges can only protect you for a very limited time from hydrogen sulfide (H₂S). Without adequate equipment, H₂S is deadly. These cartridges will protect you if you are forced to evacuate following a release of hydrogen sulfide. The cartridges must be discarded immediately after exposure.
WARNING: This type of cartridge does not protect against carbon monoxide (CO) and carbon dioxide (CO₂). If there is a possibility of the presence of these gases in your work environment, other means of protection must be taken.
The North multi-gas cartridge stands out for its robustness and compatibility with several models of respiratory masks. Sold in pairs, it represents an economical and practical solution for professionals in the chemical, petrochemical, construction and transport industries. Its lightness and ease of installation make it an essential product for reliable respiratory protection. This type of cartridge is ideal for work in chemical and petrochemical industries, construction and transport.
Installing the North multi-gas cartridge is simple and fast. Just attach each cartridge to the connectors of the respiratory mask of series 5400, 7600 or 7700. Correct installation guarantees perfect sealing and optimal protection against organic vapors and acid gases. Regularly check the fit of the mask to maintain maximum safety.
Studies have shown that in the case of mixtures of contaminants, all contaminants are absorbed simultaneously on the surface of the carbon. When there is no more space, the most volatile solvent “breaks” the cartridge. If the cartridges have not reached their saturation limit, they are reusable. It is advisable to store them in a container or hermetic bag since they absorb contaminants in the air even if they are not worn. The cartridges are disposable, so there is no maintenance. It is recommended to respect the limits established by the manufacturer.
Use the North multi-gas cartridge only in environments where the concentration of contaminants respects the permitted exposure limits. Make sure the mask is properly adjusted before each use and replace the cartridges as soon as you notice increased breathing resistance or a smell of contaminants. These tips guarantee optimal respiratory protection.
Do not use if the user has a beard or suffers from a condition likely to prevent direct contact between the edge of the mask and the face. These cartridges do not protect against particles in the air. It is not recommended to use this type of respiratory protection if there is a concentration higher than the permitted limit of gases and vapors. Do not use also when there are particles released during sandblasting and aerosol concentrations higher than 10 times the exposure limit allowed by CNESST or any other applicable government regulation. This type of respiratory protection cartridge must only be used in places that do not present a risk of oxygen deficiency.
The duration depends on the intensity and frequency of exposure, but it is recommended to replace them as soon as they show signs of saturation.
They are specially designed for North respiratory protection masks of series 5400, 7600 and 7700.
When breathing becomes difficult or contaminant odors appear, it is time to replace it.
