Blue one-piece safety coverall, 100 % flame-resistant cotton, Arc 2 rated, with high-visibility reflective stripes for work exposed to electric arc

Pioneer Flame-Gard coverall, code V1766, sold by the unit, special order

This blue one-piece work coverall is designed for workers exposed to flame and electric-arc hazards. Rated Arc 2, it delivers a thermal protective performance (TPP) value of 11.8 cal/cm2 and an ATPV value of 9.5 cal/cm2 (hazard risk category CAT 2). Available in sizes 36 to 66, selectable from the drop-down menu above.

The coverall is made of 100 % Flame-Gard fire-retardant treated cotton, 10 oz (340 g/m2), a rugged fabric whose flame resistance is guaranteed for the life of the garment. Its double stitching uses inherently flame-resistant aramid thread, and its concealed two-way flame-retardant brass zipper makes it well suited to electrical environments.

Key features of the Arc 2 safety coverall

This coverall brings together the features expected of a professional protective garment for hot work and electrical work:

  • Flame-Gard 10 oz (340 g/m2) fabric: 100 % fire-retardant treated cotton, rugged and flame resistant.
  • Arc 2 rated: TPP of 11.8 cal/cm2 and ATPV value of 9.5 cal/cm2, hazard risk category CAT 2.
  • StarTech high-visibility reflective stripes: 2 vertical lines on the chest, an "X" on the back and stripes around the waist, arms and legs to improve worker visibility.
  • Concealed two-way flame-retardant brass zipper and double stitching with inherently flame-resistant aramid thread.
  • 7 pockets (2 chest, 2 side slash, 2 back and 1 tool pocket) and 1 chest strap to attach a radio.
  • Snap-adjustable wrist openings, two side openings for pants access and an elastic waistband for added comfort.
  • Sizes 36 to 66, men's fit, sold by the unit.

Worksites and sectors where this product is required

This flame-resistant coverall suits any role where an electric-arc risk assessment calls for an Arc 2 rated garment:

  • Work on energized electrical panels and cabinets exposed to electric arc.
  • Industrial maintenance of substations and distribution stations.
  • Electrotechnical work in industry and outdoors.
  • Connection and testing on power equipment (motors, drives, breakers).
  • Hot work and industrial maintenance where flame protection is required.

Care and inspection of your flame-resistant coverall

Careful maintenance preserves the garment's flame-resistant properties. Before washing, empty the pockets and close the zipper. Wash in lukewarm water with similar colors using a mild liquid detergent. Do not use detergents containing chlorine bleach or hydrogen peroxide, and no bleach. Do not use fabric softener, starch or dryer sheets, as they impair the garment's flame-resistant properties. Cover the retroreflective tape before any ironing. Inspect the garment before each use for cuts, burns or excessive wear.

FAQ: Frequently asked questions about the Arc 2 flame-resistant coverall

Which standards does this coverall comply with?

This coverall complies with CGSB 155.20-2000, NFPA 70E, CSA Z462-15 and ASTM F1506. It is rated Arc 2 (hazard risk category CAT 2) with an ATPV value of 9.5 cal/cm2 and a thermal protective performance (TPP) value of 11.8 cal/cm2.

Is the blue coverall a high-visibility garment?

Royal blue is not in itself a high-visibility color, as it is less noticeable than fluorescent or bright shades, but it has the advantage of hiding dirt better. High visibility is provided by the StarTech reflective stripes (two vertical lines on the chest, an "X" on the back and stripes around the waist, arms and legs), which improve worker visibility in low light.

How do I choose my size?

The coverall is offered in sizes 36 to 66, in a men's fit. Select your size from the drop-down menu at the top of the page. If you are between two sizes, choose the larger one to keep freedom of movement over your other clothing.

Complementary suggestions

To complete your protection, protect your hands with Arc 2 flame-resistant neoprene-palm gloves (GS13FRNE). If you prefer a two-piece outfit, see the FR-Tech Pioneer 7 oz shirt (V131) and its matching cargo pants (V7764). For a one-piece option, compare with the orange coverall (V1765) or the women's royal blue coverall (V7704F). Since the electrical work zone must always be delimited, mark it off with a red danger barricade tape (ECT3RE9), a retroreflective post (EPAL192) and a shock-hazard sign (ECD400).
