Designed for workers exposed to traffic and machinery, this high-visibility yellow Pioneer 6936 safety vest combines visibility, comfort and emergency safety. Made of lightweight, breathable knit polyester with a full mesh back, it delivers optimal ventilation over long days. Its 5-point detachable ("tear-away") design allows quick removal if it snags, making it permitted on construction sites. Compliant with the CSA Z96-15 standard, class 2 level 2 and the ANSI/ISEA 107-15 standard, class 2, type P and R. Made by Pioneer (manufacturer code V1021260, model 6936), available in sizes from XS to 5XL (drop-down menu). Also available in a high-visibility orange version (V6935) and a low-visibility black version (V6937).
The vest closes at the front with a plastic zipper fitted with a detachable tab on the left side: it goes on and off easily while releasing if it snags in a machine. It has 5 breakaway points (2 at the shoulders, 2 on the sides and one on the zipper side), offering the comfort of a zipper without compromising safety. The back features a D-ring slot to pass the dorsal D-ring of a fall-arrest harness.
The vest offers 4 resealable outer pockets and 2 attachment straps for a two-way radio, tools, documents or a cell phone. Practical storage that keeps your hands free and essentials within reach. The full mesh back promotes airflow and sweat evacuation.
The vest features a 50 mm (2 in) StarTech retroreflective tape alternating with fluorescent orange stripes, in a configuration of 2 vertical stripes in front, 2 stripes crossing in an X on the back and one horizontal stripe at the waist. Fluorescent yellow (safety yellow-green) is highly visible in daylight and in low natural light (dawn, dusk); being paler than orange, it stays visible at night without matching the reflective stripes. The silver retroreflective stripes return light toward its source (flashlight, headlights) and offer maximum safety at dawn, dusk and night. Class 2 targets workers near road traffic (low to moderate risk); type R (Roadway) covers traffic exposure and type P (Public Safety) covers first responders.
Application: any environment where the worker is near moving vehicles or equipment (cars, trucks, forklifts) and must be spotted early by drivers. Restriction: this vest does not protect against flames or electric arcs. Care: empty pockets and close all fasteners before washing, turn the garment inside out, do not soak, wash in warm water (max 40°C / 104°F) with like colors and a mild liquid detergent (pH 10 or less), without overloading the machine.
It complies with the Canadian CSA Z96-15 standard, class 2 level 2, and the American ANSI/ISEA 107-15 standard, class 2, type P and R.
