These insulated pants go on over work pants as soon as the cold arrives and come off easily when heading back indoors. Their 300-denier oxford polyester fabric has a cold-flexible PU coating and a durable water-repellent (DWR) finish against wet snow and light rain. The polyester lining, quilted over 4 oz polyester insulation, keeps warmth around the legs, and the 3M Scotchlite tape returns the light of headlights and lamps.

The leg bottoms open with the snaps placed from the ankle to mid-calf: the pants slip over boots without removing them, then close over the boot shaft. The fully elasticized waistband, with an adjustable drawcord, fits over work pants. Two front welt pockets and two rear patch pockets keep small items within reach.
300-denier oxford polyester is a tough fabric for outdoor work. Its PU coating stays flexible in the cold and its durable water-repellent finish makes wet snow and light rain bead off; Tough Duck presents it as water-repellent and wind-repellent. Inside, the 100% polyester lining is quilted over 4 oz polyester insulation that keeps warmth during hours spent outdoors.
These low-visibility pants meet CSA Z96 class 1 level 2 when worn with a compliant top with reflective arm bands. Worn alone, they are not a high-visibility garment. Their 2 in (5.08 cm) 3M Scotchlite tape sits on a 4 in (10.16 cm) contrasting trim.
It is important to note that black work clothing is not commonly used for high visibility, because it is not as visible as fluorescent or bright colours. Black is not a high-visibility colour; it is mainly chosen for aesthetic reasons or to better hide dirt.
Silver-grey retroreflective stripes are highly visible in low natural or artificial light, because they return light toward its source (flashlight, car headlights, etc.). They therefore offer maximum safety at dawn, at dusk and at night, but do not increase visibility in broad daylight.
What sets these pants apart is their reflective tape on a black background. Alone, they are not a high-visibility garment; worn with a compliant top with reflective arm bands, they meet CSA Z96 class 1 level 2. Select the ensemble according to the hazards and workplace requirements.
These pants may be considered for yards, docks, unheated warehouses and parking lots, provided the selected ensemble meets the requirements of the job. They are mainly intended for workers who move between indoors and outdoors during the day. Where vehicles are present, verify that the visibility class of the ensemble is appropriate for the assessed hazards.
These pants are not flame-resistant and do not protect against arc flash; their finish is water-repellent, not waterproof. Choose a certified or waterproof garment when the task requires it.
Before washing, empty the pockets and close the snaps. Machine wash the pants with a mild soap, without chlorine bleach or fabric softener, then shake them out and hang them to dry away from sunlight; do not put them in the dryer. Replace them when the reflective tape is worn, peeling or permanently soiled, or the fabric is torn.
