Manufacturer code (Matrix): EA612. This electric oil-filled heater warms its 7 fins, which then radiate gentle, steady heat into the room without blowing air. It runs quietly, at around 45 dB. Its three power settings, 600 W, 900 W and 1500 W, and its adjustable thermostat keep a stable temperature while saving electricity: once the room is warm, the thermostat turns the unit back on only when the temperature drops.
The EA612 heater suits those who want gentle heat, with no draft or fan noise. To warm a room faster and spread warm air, see the Matrix oscillating heater (HEA597); for heat directed at a person, the Matrix infrared heater (HEB184).

The heater is shipped with its casters unattached: turn it upside down on a surface that will not scratch it, attach the caster plates with the U-bolts and wing nuts, without overtightening, then screw on the casters. Always use it upright, casters at the bottom and controls on top. Plug it directly into a 120 V wall outlet, on a 15 amp or larger circuit dedicated to the unit, never into an extension cord or power strip. Keep combustible materials at least 3 ft (0.9 m) from the front and top. The manual restricts this heater to indoor household use, as a supplementary heat source; do not use it in a bathroom, a laundry area, outdoors or near gasoline, paint or flammable liquids.
Always unplug the heater before cleaning it. Wipe the outside with a damp cloth, then with a dry cloth; do not use wax or polish, which could discolour it. A slight odour or small crackling sounds are normal at first start-up: ventilate the room and run it for about ten minutes at full power. Off-season, keep the original box: remove the casters and store the clean unit in its box, in a cool, dry place, or cover it if it stays assembled. Never open the unit yourself.
It offers three settings, 600 W, 900 W and 1500 W, and produces up to 5,120 BTU/h.
