Manufacturer 3MMC: model 6006
WARNING: This type of cartridge does not protect against carbon monoxide (CO) and carbon dioxide (CO₂).
If there is a possibility of these gases being present in your work environment, other means of protection must be used. The 3M 6006 respiratory protection cartridge is designed to effectively filter organic vapors and acid gases such as chlorine, sulfur dioxide, ammonia, methylamine and formaldehyde. It also protects against hydrogen fluoride, hydrogen chloride and chlorine dioxide. This multigas cartridge is particularly suited to industrial environments where exposure risks are varied and complex. Compliant with NIOSH standard 42 CFR 84, it provides a reliable solution for workers exposed to contaminated atmospheres.
Maximum safety against industrial vapors and gases.
The 6006 cartridge contains activated carbon, known for its effectiveness in air purification. It is compatible with half-face and full-face masks from the 3M range. Its compact and lightweight design allows for prolonged wear without discomfort. It offers protection against a multitude of industrial gases while ensuring a perfect seal on 3M respirator masks.
Installation of the 3M 6006 multigas cartridge is done by simply snapping it onto the side connectors of masks from the 6000, 7000 and FF-400 series. No tools are required. It is essential to check that the cartridges are securely attached and that the seal is airtight to ensure optimal respiratory protection.
This type of cartridge is ideal for work in the chemical, petrochemical and mining industries as well as in metal production.
Do not use if the wearer has a beard or suffers from a condition that may prevent direct contact between the edge of the mask and the face. These cartridges do not protect against airborne particles. It is not recommended to use these cartridges if there is a concentration above the permitted limit of gases and vapors. Do not use when particles are released during sandblasting and aerosol concentrations exceed 10 times the exposure limit allowed by CNESST or any other applicable government regulation. This type of respiratory protection cartridge must only be used in areas that do not present a risk of oxygen deficiency.
Studies have shown that, in the case of contaminant mixtures, all contaminants are simultaneously absorbed on the surface of the carbon. When there is no more space, the most volatile solvent “breaks through” the cartridge. If the cartridges have not reached their saturation limit, they are reusable. It is recommended to store them in a sealed container or bag, since they absorb contaminants from the air even when not worn. The cartridges are disposable, so there is no maintenance. It is recommended to follow the limits established by the manufacturer.
Use 3M multigas cartridges only in well-ventilated environments and within recommended exposure limits. Do not use in oxygen-deficient atmospheres or in the presence of gases not filterable by this type of cartridge. Always check compatibility with your 3M respirator mask and wear full personal protective equipment. This product does not protect against carbon monoxide (CO) or carbon dioxide (CO₂).
Lifespan depends on the intensity of exposure to gases and vapors. It is recommended to replace the cartridge as soon as the odor becomes noticeable or according to the manufacturer’s instructions.
No, the 6006 cartridge is designed for gases and vapors. For protection against particles, a compatible P100 filter must be added.
Yes, this cartridge is suitable for mining, chemical and petrochemical environments, provided that gas concentrations remain within permissible exposure limits.
