For a maintenance crew working together on a machine, an electrician and a mechanic servicing the same disconnect or the person in charge of a production shutdown who wants each person to keep control of their own padlock. The hasp is used under the facility's lockout program.
Before each use, check that the jaw closes properly and that the holes are clear. Wipe the hasp after use and store it dry. Remove from service a hasp with bent or cracked steel, or a jaw that no longer stays closed once locked.
The hasp takes up to 6 padlocks, one per worker.
The jaw has a 1 in opening.
No. The hasp is sold alone; each worker applies a personal padlock.
The handle is coated with vinyl (PVC).
The hasp is 4-1/2 in long and 1-3/4 in wide.
This Master Lock hasp is made in the United States.
For a crew preparing a group lockout before servicing equipment, plan for a Honeywell Everest Class E hard hat (TA119R), an orange FR-Tech Pioneer arc-rated vest (V7728), uncorded Honeywell Firmfit earplugs (OA1105), 3M SecureFit amber eyewear (YASF203) and Endura cowhide fitters gloves (G301). This PPE is worn during preparation and maintenance; it never replaces de-energizing the equipment.
To organize a group lockout, see the red lock box (CAEB), the French do-not-operate plastic tag (CAET4), the rotating gate valve lockout (CAV), the black Master Lock dielectric padlock (CA1Z) and the large electrical connector bag (CAESAC).
