This large-capacity spill management kit has been specially designed to respond quickly and effectively to oil, hydrocarbon, and oily chemical spills. With a total absorption capacity of 55 US gallons, it is ideal for industrial environments, construction sites, and facilities where there is a risk of major spills.
All absorbents included in the kit are hydrophobic, meaning they repel water and absorb only petroleum-based liquids. Their white color makes it easy to identify them as being intended for oil spills.
The resealable barrel makes it easy to deploy the contents and safely recover contaminated absorbents.
This complete kit allows you to effectively control, contain, and absorb a large spill using a combination of absorbent pads, booms, and pillows.
The high-density polyethylene drum is used not only to store the absorbents before use, but also to transport the contaminated materials after the spill has been cleaned up. It is certified for the transport of hazardous materials, which simplifies waste management after cleanup.
Contents of the 55 US gallon kit
The kit includes:
The pads are made of non-woven polypropylene, created by a melt-blown process, and reinforced by sonic welding. Their embossed structure improves absorption speed, and their average weight of 240 g/m² ensures excellent capacity without compromising maneuverability.
They feature a central perforation, which is convenient for using only the amount needed depending on the size of the spill.
The booms are made of absorbent material wrapped in a circular knitted cover, closed at each end with metal clips. Their main role is to contain the spill by forming a barrier, thus limiting the spread of the liquid before absorbing the rest with the pads.
Pillows offer high absorption capacity and are ideal for areas where liquid accumulates or seeps, such as under a machine, in a tray, or near an engine.
Made of high-density polyethylene, the barrel is resistant to impact, chemicals, and weathering.
It ensures:
This kit is essential in:
It allows you to quickly contain a major spill, effectively absorb the spilled liquid, protect drains and sensitive areas with the neoprene sheet, and safely manage contaminated absorbent waste.
This kit is designed for oil spills only.
It should not be used when the nature of the spilled product is unknown or when dealing with corrosive, reactive, or non-petroleum products.
It is not suitable for absorbing water or aqueous solutions.
Absorbents must be handled with PPE when the liquid poses a health risk.
The barrel must be stored in a dry, accessible location, ideally close to risk areas. It is recommended to periodically check that the contents are complete and that the absorbents are not compressed to the point of affecting their effectiveness.
After use, contaminated materials must be disposed of in accordance with applicable environmental regulations.
In Quebec, this includes:
The barrel can then be reused to store new absorbents, provided it has been cleaned and inspected.
This kit is intended exclusively for oil, hydrocarbon, and oily chemical spills. The absorbents are hydrophobic: they repel water and only capture petroleum-based liquids.
It should not be used for:
The white color allows:
This improves response times and reduces errors in emergency situations.
Yes. The high-density polyethylene (HDPE) barrel is approved for the transport of hazardous materials.
It can therefore be used:
This is a major advantage for industrial sites and remote construction sites.
Each absorbent has a specific role:
In practice, all three are often used in combination for a complete response.
Soiled absorbents become hazardous materials. They must be handled with gloves and goggles (included in the kit), then placed in the bags provided.
In Quebec, their disposal must comply with:
The included certified barrel facilitates this step.

Large oil-only spill kit for oil-based fluids, overpacked in a drum with a detachable lid and a locking rim.
Absorbency : 55 US gallons.
This kit is recommended for absorbing spills of oils, oil-based fluids and hydrocarbons (petroleum derivatives). Sorbents are hydrophobic (let water through) and can be used indoors and outdoors. They are color-coded white for oil-only spills. This large spill kit is suitable for manufacturing plants and construction sites.
Warning: Do not use this kit to absorb spills of unknown fluids.
Contents:
100 buffers
14 rolls
4 pillows
2 pairs of gloves
2 pairs of goggles
5 disposables bags
1 36 "x 36" neoprene canvas.
1 yellow HDPE drum with a detachable lid with a locking rim.
Pads:
Sorbent pads (also called sorbent sheets) are made of medium weight 240 gm2 meltblown (nonwoven) polypropylene fibers. The fibers are sonic bonded in a grid of points, which gives the pads a typical dimpled texture. Pads are perforated lengthwise through their center, so they can be easily halved if needed. Pads offer the fastest absorption thanks to their large surface area.
Socks:
The outer sleeve is made of circular knit fabric. The sock ends are sealed with metal clips. Socks are recommended for containing spills rather than absorbing them, given that they have a smaller contact area than pads.
Drum:
The drum container is made of yellow high-density polyethylene (HDPE) and includes a a detachable lid with a locking rim. The drum acts as an overpack for the absorbent materials, protecting them before use. It may also be used to store used absorbents, and to transport used absorbents for disposal. The drum is certified for the transport of hazardous materials.
