These waste bags are used on-site during low-, medium- and high-risk asbestos abatement and removal. They quickly identify all asbestos-containing waste and ensure it will be properly contained all the way to the landfill. In this way, the risk of asbestos contamination outside the containment area is greatly reduced.
Additionally, each bag features the hazmat Class 9 placard (Miscellaneous Hazardous Materials) and the UN number 2590 (White Asbestos - Chrysotile), in accordance with Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG) regulations.
Asbestos hazardous waste must be double wrapped in order to reach the regulatory protective thickness of 6 mils around asbestos waste. The second wrapping bag is usually clear and should be put on before the waste bags are removed from the containment area. Clear bags make it easy to tell that the bags are double-wrapped and do not hide the printed warning label.
(See item SAC2640C for 26" x 40" clear bags.)
In general, yellow asbestos waste bags must be vacuumed with a HEPA vacuum inside the containment area before being double-wrapped. Containment areas are mandatory for high-risk asbestos abatement and removal.
These robust, regulation-compliant bags are an essential ally for managing and transporting asbestos waste in full compliance, while ensuring worker safety and respect for the environment.
