Cut-resistant ASTM/ANSI A3 Dexterity® 18-gauge Kevlar® blended-knit glove with foam nitrile coating

This Dexterity® cut-resistant glove (Superior product code S18KGFN) is made from an ultrafine 18-gauge Kevlar® blend with a conductive yarn that lets you use a touchscreen. It is coated with foam nitrile over the palms and fingers, and sold in pairs. It has a cut resistance level A3, abrasion level 3 and puncture level 2 according to ASTM and ANSI standards. Available in sizes ranging from double extra-small (5) to double extra-large (11). Please select the size needed in the field located above.

Superior manufacturer's code: S18KGFN

Features of the lightweight touchscreen-friendly Dexterity glove

This comfortable, lightweight glove does not hamper dexterity while providing outstanding protection from cuts and abrasion. The foam nitrile coating provides an excellent grip on both wet and slippery surfaces, and even lets you handle touchscreen devices without removing the glove.

Kevlar® properties for tensile strength and cut resistance

Kevlar®, a thermoplastic polymer related to aramids, is a low-density, high-strength material offering excellent tensile strength, elongation and shear strength. It does not expand from temperature changes, fairly absorbs vibrations and shock, does not strain the hand and reacts well chemically to hydrocarbons.

Non-slip foam nitrile properties

Nitrile foam has essentially the same properties as regular nitrile; the difference lies in the additives dispersed through the compounding — in this case a vulcanizing agent and a foaming agent, which cause a small loss of elasticity. Nitrile foam offers a better barrier performance against viruses, blood-borne pathogens and liquids than latex foam, but does not protect entirely, since the frothing of nitrile makes it porous and thus permeable. As long as the manufacturer's limitations on use are respected, the glove remains comfortable and offers good dexterity.

Applications of the cut-resistant glove for construction, metalworking and electronics

This glove is recommended for workers in general construction, carpenters and woodworkers, oilfield heavy equipment operators, HVAC maintenance, plumbers, as well as the automotive industry, metalworking and fabrication, small parts assembly, electronics, pulp and paper industries and the production of plastic materials.

Usage restrictions of the Kevlar glove with foam nitrile coating

Kevlar® is known to have low resistance to UV light and moisture. Nitrile foam has low resistance to open flames. This glove cannot eliminate the risk of cuts and lacerations. Foam nitrile is porous and thus permeable to liquids; moreover, the glove is only partially coated and should not be immersed in liquids.

Maintenance and service life of the Dexterity Kevlar glove

Basic regular maintenance extends the life of your gloves. Wash them in cold water (i.e. 85 °F/30 °C) with a mild detergent. Rinse in cold water before drying, then tumble-dry on low heat. Never use bleach on this glove.
