The 24 V 18 W tungsten bulb (LA249) is the filament replacement bulb designed for emergency lighting units and the LUMT1 and LUMT2 spotlights. More powerful than the 6-volt version, it is used on units running at 24 volts and delivers an intense backup beam during a power outage. It is the part you replace as soon as a spotlight goes out or dims during a test: a new bulb of the correct voltage ensures the lighting will truly guide occupants toward the exits.
The tungsten filament gives warm, immediate light with no warm-up time, which is ideal for emergency lighting that must come on instantly. Replacing the bulb rather than the whole unit is cost-effective maintenance that extends the life of an already-installed fleet of spotlights while keeping it compliant.
Beyond a simple swap, choosing the bulb with the right specification secures the backup lighting.
Its 24 volts and 18 watts match the specifications of higher-voltage emergency units, preventing overheating and battery overconsumption.
Designed for the LUMT1 and LUMT2 spotlights, the bulb installs as a direct replacement for the original model, with no adaptation.
Replacing emergency light bulbs is required everywhere backup lighting must stay functional:
Replacement involves removing the burned-out bulb from the spotlight and fitting the new 24 V 18 W bulb into the same socket, with the unit de-energized. After fitting, an emergency-mode test confirms the beam lights up correctly on battery. A short monthly test and a full annual test help spot an end-of-life bulb in time.
The LA249 bulb is designed for 24 V emergency lights and the LUMT1 and LUMT2 spotlights. Check the original voltage (24 V) and power (18 W) for another model.
The LA249 runs at 24 volts 18 watts, for higher-voltage units, while the LA69 is a 6 volts 9 watts. You must match your unit's voltage.
As soon as a test reveals a weak or dead beam. A visual check at each monthly test helps anticipate replacement.
Replacing a bulb often goes with the full maintenance of spotlights and signs; to complete your installation, also see a 6 V 9 W bulb (LA69), an Emergilite bulb 12 V 6 W (LA129E), a single 9 W spotlight (LUMT1), a double 18 W spotlight (LUMT2), a 6 V 36 W unit with 2 heads (LU362MT), an Exit sign with battery (LUMB), a replacement battery (LBLUM) or a 2-LED 15 W kit (LALED).
