The Dentec Koala Behr safety harness is an economical class A fall-arrest harness built for occasional construction and maintenance work. Fitted with a steel dorsal D-ring for fall arrest, it provides 3 adjustment points (2 on the legs and 1 on the chest) along with a sub-pelvic support strap for a safe, comfortable fit. Available in a universal size, it suits workers from medium to extra-large. Its economical nature is reflected in its unpainted metal components.
What sets this model apart are its buckles: the chest straps are joined by Pass-Thru buckles, while the leg straps use tongue (grommet) buckles at regular intervals. This grommet system makes the harness especially quick and easy to don. It is essential, however, to adjust and tighten the harness properly on the body: a loose harness can lead to the worker slipping out during a fall.
Its webbing is made of blue polyester, a material that offers better resistance to acidic chemicals than nylon. Plastic tips at the end of each strap prevent fraying while making adjustment easy, even with work gloves on. Two rigid retaining loops hold the lanyard when not in use and limit tripping hazards, and a drop indicator makes visual inspection before each use easier. Dentec product code: 16H33102FI (model H33102FI).
This basic harness focuses on simplicity and quick donning thanks to its grommeted leg straps, while offering the comfort of a sub-pelvic strap. It is an economical choice to equip a crew or for occasional work at height.
The tongue (grommet) buckles spaced at regular intervals on the legs allow simple adjustment and quick donning, even with gloves. When properly tightened, the harness stays safe and comfortable all day.
This class A harness meets fall-arrest needs across many environments involving work at height:
A harness never protects on its own: it is the core of a complete fall-arrest system that must also include a reliable anchor point and a connecting means suited to the work at height. Depending on your site, you will pair the Koala Behr harness with an energy-absorbing lanyard or connecting device, a compliant anchorage connector and the rescue equipment needed to act quickly after a fall.
The worker is responsible for a routine inspection before each use, looking for any sign of degradation, wear, malfunction or breakage. The harness must be replaced at the first sign of failure.
In addition, this harness should be inspected by a qualified person other than the worker who wears it. The required frequency varies by manufacturer: every 90 days, every 180 days or yearly. The harder the work and environmental conditions, the more often it should be inspected. The recommended service life of a harness is 5 years. Sylprotec offers a harness inspection service, available under the Service tab at the top of the page. Any equipment subjected to a fall or impact must be taken out of service.
For cleaning, use a gentle soap and clean lukewarm water (37 °C). Do not use bleach or other abrasive or chemical products. Air dry without excessive heat, in a clean environment, and avoid exposing the harness to sunlight or any source of contamination.
They are tongue buckles with grommets spaced at regular intervals along the leg straps; you insert the tongue into the grommet matching the right size. They make donning simple and quick, but the harness must always be snug on the body.
It has 3 adjustment points: 2 on the legs and 1 on the chest, plus a sub-pelvic support strap.
It supports a worker up to 310 lb (140.6 kg), including clothing, tools and equipment.
