The Degil temporary concrete anchorage connector is a removable anchorage point designed for the fall protection of workers at height, on a concrete surface. It installs into a drilled hole and is removed at the end of the job, making it the ideal solution for occasional work sites where a permanent anchor is not required. It serves as an attachment point to connect a harness to a fall protection system.
This anchor is designed by the manufacturer to withstand static forces of 5000 lb (22 kN), in compliance with the ANSI Z359.7 and CE-EN 795 standards. It supports a maximum weight of 400 lb (181 kg). The body is steel, the end termination is 304 stainless steel (better corrosion resistance than other stainless grades) and the spring is zinc-plated steel. Degil manufacturer code: 8523810. Sold individually.
Rugged and reusable, this anchor provides a reliable, multidirectional fall protection attachment point for occasional work on concrete, with no permanent installation.
Safe installation of this anchor requires concrete at least 5 in (12.7 cm) thick and a minimum compressive strength of 3000 psi (20.7 MPa). The anchor is intended exclusively for concrete surfaces; it is not recommended for wood or steel. Set the device at least 6 in (152.4 mm) from any edge and to a minimum depth of 3 in (76.2 mm). Do not use with a horizontal lifeline system. The manufacturer recommends removing the device at the end of each workday. Consult the installation manual (English only) for the drill bits to use. As with any fall protection anchorage point, assess the fall distance, the free clearance below the worker, the rescue measures and the anchor strength (5000 lb).
The worker is responsible for a routine inspection before each use: look for any sign of degradation, wear, malfunction or breakage. Replace the anchor at the first sign of failure. These anchors should also be inspected periodically by a qualified person other than the worker; the more demanding the conditions, the more frequent the inspection. The anchors carry certification labels. Sylprotec offers a fall protection equipment inspection service; see the Services tab.
Here are the most frequent questions about the capacity, installation and removal of this temporary concrete anchorage connector.
It withstands static forces of 5000 lb (22 kN) and suits a worker with a maximum weight of 400 lb (181 kg).
Exclusively on concrete at least 5 in (12.7 cm) thick and 3000 psi (20.7 MPa). It is not recommended for wood or steel.
Yes, up to a 90° angle (floor, ceiling or walls), but never with a horizontal lifeline.
To build a complete fall protection system, this temporary connector combines with the rest of the protection chain. Depending on the support and the type of work, you will choose a temporary, reusable or permanent anchor, then the associated equipment.
Also consider a class A harness (FPH1000A), a panic-lock grab (FPACC), a vertical lifeline rope (FPAC), the complete roofer kit (FPK50), a stainless permanent anchorage connector (FPA826), a reusable roof anchor (FPA827), a door frame anchor (FPA831) and a storage bag (FPBAG).
