The Proban(R) flame-resistant cotton sleeve, 18 in (45.72 cm), protects the forearms against heat, sparks and brief flames. The Proban(R) treatment makes the cotton flame-retardant: the fabric does not spread the flame and self-extinguishes, while keeping the comfort and breathability of a cotton textile. Fitted with adjustable dome snaps at the wrist, it adjusts easily and stays in place during work. Its green colour makes it easy to spot. Made in Canada and sold in pairs, it is ideal for hot work where the forearms must be protected without wearing heavy garments.
This sleeve stands out for its Proban(R)-treated cotton, a process that makes the textile durably flame-resistant: the fabric does not spread the flame and self-extinguishes once the heat source is removed. Unlike some synthetic materials, this flame-resistant cotton does not melt or stick to the skin. Its adjustable dome snaps at the wrist allow a quick fit and prevent the sleeve from slipping. Its flexibility and breathability make it a comfortable protection for prolonged wear in hot environments.
Length: 18 in (45.72 cm). Material: Proban(R)-treated cotton (flame-retardant). Colour: green. Adjustment: adjustable dome snaps at the wrist. Made in Canada. Packaging: sold in pairs. This sleeve protects the forearms against heat, sparks and brief flames; it is not designed as cut-resistant or chemical protection. Refer to your risk assessment to confirm suitability for your application.
This sleeve is recommended for workers near heat sources, sparks or brief flames who must protect their forearms without wearing heavy protective garments. It suits welding, metalwork, foundries and tasks where hot spatter may reach the arms. Its flame-retardant nature makes it preferable to ordinary cotton in these environments. It is worn with a glove and apron suited to hot work.
This sleeve is flame-retardant, but it offers only limited protection: it is not designed for direct, prolonged contact with fire, nor to replace certified thermal protective equipment when the task requires it. It does not protect against cuts or chemicals. Always check, through your risk assessment, that the level of protection suits the actual task before use, and replace the sleeve if the fabric is burned, punctured or too worn.
Wash the sleeve according to your facility's guidelines and let it dry completely before storing it in a clean, dry place. The Proban(R) treatment is designed to withstand washing, but avoid aggressive products that could degrade its flame-resistant properties. Replace the sleeve as soon as it is burned, punctured, too worn or when its flame-retardant properties appear altered, in order to maintain a good level of protection.
