The Superior Clutch Gear® glove (manufacturer's code MXBE) is a water-repellent mechanics glove combining micro-suede, nylon and neoprene, sold by the pair. The micro-suede palm also covers the top of the fingers, with a second layer added at the thumb crotch for added comfort. The back of the hand and the inserts between the fingers are made of nylon (slightly thinner between the fingers for better dexterity), and the area across the knuckles is neoprene for better protection from knocks and abrasion. Fitted with an ID label to personalize your gloves and prevent loss, it is ideal for mechanics, and is also used by truck drivers, construction workers and workers in various other fields.

The micro-suede used for this glove is a man-made synthetic fabric whose fibers may be up to a hundred times finer than human hair. These fibers are tightly woven into a dense fabric that has many of the same qualities as real suede without being as hard to maintain. It is soft, flexible and just a little less resistant than leather.
Nylon is a non-absorbing thermoplastic polymer that is quite stretchable and breathable. It blocks the wind well and offers excellent abrasion resistance, which makes it an ideal material to work with. Please note that one should never work around an open flame when wearing nylon, since this material burns easily.
Neoprene is a synthetic rubber that offers better resistance to hydrocarbons and temperature fluctuations than natural rubber. It has low thermal conductivity, letting your hands breathe while retaining some warmth. Neoprene barely absorbs liquids. It is a little less flexible than nylon and highly abrasion-resistant, which is why it was chosen to protect the knuckles, at higher risk of injury during mechanical work. Please note that neoprene is a known, although rare, allergen.
All three fabrics on this glove are non-absorbing, so washing these gloves should not be necessary. Micro-suede is stain-resistant and the other two fabrics are very hard to stain, even with motor oil. Should the need arise, the manufacturer strongly recommends dry cleaning. Never use any bleaching agent on these gloves, as it will degrade the neoprene part.
It is ideal for mechanics, but is also used by truck drivers and for assembly and construction work.
Yes, it is a water-repellent glove; all three of its fabrics (micro-suede, nylon, neoprene) are non-absorbing.
A neoprene zone across the knuckles provides better protection from knocks and abrasion.
It is available from extra-small (6) to XX-large (11), sold by the pair.
Washing is normally unnecessary (non-absorbing, stain-resistant fabrics). If needed, the manufacturer recommends dry cleaning. Never use bleach, which would damage the neoprene.
