Protect your forearms from cuts and burns with the level 3 Kevlar sleeve

The Kevlar(R) cut-resistant sleeve provides level 3 (ASTM/ANSI) protection for the forearms, against both cuts and burns: Kevlar(R) does not melt or drip when exposed to extreme heat or an open flame. Seamless and built with a double-layer tubular knit, it hugs the arm for a comfortable fit and remarkable durability. It comes in two lengths, 10 in (25.4 cm) and 14 in (35.5 cm), depending on the coverage required. Sold in pairs. Superior manufacturer's code: KKWC. Please select the length needed in the field above.

Features of the Kevlar level 3 cut-resistant sleeve

This seamless Kevlar(R) knit sleeve features a double-layer tubular knit that gives it incredible durability and unparalleled protection against cuts and other mechanical hazards. It also provides protection from burn hazards, since Kevlar(R) does not melt or drip around extreme heat and open flames. Its flexible construction covers the forearm without straining the arm, making it a top choice for demanding work in hot environments.

Kevlar properties and specifications of the Superior KKWC sleeve

Kevlar(R), a thermoplastic polymer of the aramid fibre family, is a low-density material offering excellent tensile strength, elongation and shear strength. It does not expand despite température changes, absorbs vibrations well and fairly cushions shocks. It does not strain the hand and reacts chemically well to hydrocarbons. Cut resistance: level 3 according to ASTM and ANSI standards. Lengths available: 10 in (25.4 cm) and 14 in (35.5 cm). Material: seamless Kevlar(R) knit, double-layer tubular. Sold in pairs. Superior manufacturer's code: KKWC.

Uses of the Kevlar sleeve for sheet metal, automotive and welding

This sleeve is recommended for workers in hot environments where wearing heavy protective garments may be a burden, but where the forearms must still be protected from mechanical hazards and, possibly, burn hazards. The manufacturer suggests it for settings where metal is handled, such as sheet metal that can be sharp. It is also ideal for workers in the automotive industry, metal fabrication and welding. It is worn with a suitable cut-resistant glove for complete protection.

Restrictions regarding the Kevlar sleeve

Kevlar(R) is known to have low resistance to UV light and moisture: avoid prolonged sun exposure and store the sleeve away from moisture. This sleeve offers only limited protection against cuts, tears and puncture; it reduces the risk without being able to eliminate it completely and does not replace a risk assessment or other safety measures. Always check that level 3 suits the actual task before use.

Maintenance and service life of the Kevlar sleeve

A basic maintenance is recommended to extend the service life of your sleeves. Simply wash them with hot water, that is 170°F / 75°C, with a regular detergent. Rinse them well in cold water after washing, but before drying. You can then dry them at medium température in a dryer. Never use traditional bleach on Kevlar(R). For a stain remover, the manufacturer recommends a peroxide-based bleach rather than a chlorine-based one.

FAQ about the Superior Kevlar level 3 cut-resistant sleeve

What is its cut resistance level ?

It provides level 3 cut resistance according to ASTM and ANSI standards, plus burn protection thanks to Kevlar(R), which does not melt.

What lengths are available ?

It comes in two lengths: 10 in (25.4 cm) and 14 in (35.5 cm). Select the length needed before purchase. Sold in pairs.

Does it protect against heat and flames ?

Kevlar(R) does not melt or drip under extreme heat or an open flame, which provides burn protection. However, it does not replace certified flame-resistant equipment for direct fire exposure.

How do I maintain it ?

Wash in hot water (170°F / 75°C) with a regular detergent, rinse in cold water, machine dry at medium température. Never use chlorine bleach; prefer a peroxide-based agent.
