This filter also offers protection against solid particles released into the air and liquid particles from oily and non-oily aerosols. The activated carbon located in the lower part of the cartridge is, in fact, one of the most economical and effective air purification methods on the market.

Biological particles

This type of cartridge can help reduce inhalation exposure to certain airborne biological particles, such as molds, Bacillus anthracis (anthrax disease), Mycobacterium tuberculosis (Koch’s bacillus) responsible for tuberculosis, pandemic flu (H5N1, H1N1), etc. However, it cannot completely eliminate the risk of infection, pathology or disease. Because of the nature of certain biological contaminants, government agencies have not been able to determine exposure limits for all types of contaminants.

Restriction

Do not use if the user has a beard or suffers from a condition likely to prevent direct contact between the edge of the mask and the face. It is not recommended to use this type of respiratory protection if there is a concentration higher than the permitted limit of gases and vapors. Do not also use when there are particles released during sandblasting and concentrations of aerosols higher than 10 times the permissible exposure limit by the CNESST or any other applicable government regulation. This type of cartridge must only be used in places that do not present a risk of oxygen deficiency.
