The Peakworks reusable roof anchor is an anchorage connector designed for the fall protection of workers on sloped roofs. Fitted with D-rings, it serves as a reliable attachment point to connect a harness to a fall protection system. Its reusable design lets you remove it at the end of the job and reinstall it on another site, making it an economical solution for roofers and contractors who regularly work at heights.
Built from rugged metal to withstand the stresses of repeated use, this anchor is designed by the manufacturer to withstand static forces of 5000 lb (22 kN), in compliance with the CSA Z259.15 and ANSI Z359.18 standards. The maximum worker weight is 310 lb (141 kg), including clothing, tools and equipment. Peakworks manufacturer code: V8229100, model RB-9800. Sold individually.
Reusable from one site to the next, this anchor provides a reliable, economical fall protection attachment point for recurring work on sloped roofs.
According to the manufacturer, this anchor must be installed on structural parts of the sloped roof: it can be placed through the covering laid over wood structural members, or on the metal sheeting covering the wood frame. Use #10 screws of 3 in (not included), with at least 3 in the center row and 3 in the vertical rows on each side, that is 9 screws per side for a total of 18. Do not install it too close to the roof edge. The anchor point should preferably be located above the level of the harness dorsal D-ring and positioned vertically relative to the user; the worker must stay below this point within an angle of no more than 45 degrees. Always assess the fall distance, the free clearance below the worker, the rescue measures and the anchor strength (5000 lb). At the end of the job, the anchor must be removed for reuse.
Before each use, inspect the anchor for any sign of corrosion, cracking, deformation, wear or loose fasteners, and check the integrity of the D-rings. Since it is reused from one site to the next, pay particular attention to the condition of the fixing points. Any anchor that is damaged, deformed or has been subjected to a fall must be taken out of service immediately. A qualified person should also carry out a periodic inspection. Sylprotec offers a fall protection equipment inspection service; to learn more, see the Services tab.
Clean the anchor with mild soap and lukewarm water to remove dirt, caulking residue and debris. Avoid harsh abrasive or chemical products. Dry thoroughly and store the anchor sheltered, in a clean and dry place, between uses. Regularly check for corrosion, especially after exposure to the weather.
Here are the most frequent questions about the installation, capacity and reuse of this roof anchor for sloped roofs.
It is designed to withstand static forces of 5000 lb (22 kN) and suits a worker with a maximum weight of 310 lb (141 kg), equipment included.

Yes. That is its purpose: at the end of the job, you remove it to reinstall it elsewhere, as long as it is not damaged and has not been subjected to a fall.
To build a complete roof fall protection system, this anchor combines with other Peakworks equipment. Depending on the type and duration of the work, you will choose a reusable, permanent or temporary anchor, then the rest of the protection chain.
Also consider a class A harness (FPH1000A), a panic-lock rope grab (FPACC), a vertical lifeline rope (FPAC), the complete roofer kit (FPK50), a permanent anchorage connector (FPA826), a temporary roof anchor (FPA828), a traffic cone (EPTCONE) and a storage bag (FPBAG).
