In first aid, infection prevention is a top priority. These professional dressing forceps allow the rescuer to handle medical supplies with precision while keeping a safe distance from the wound. Their 14 cm length offers excellent maneuverability and sufficient leverage to apply controlled pressure when cleaning a wound or applying topical medications.
Whether for a corporate infirmary, a clinic, or an advanced first aid kit, this instrument is a health and safety standard. Unlike splinter forceps, this model features serrated jaws that provide a firm grip on soft materials like cotton or bandages, preventing them from slipping during care.
High-Quality Stainless Steel: Corrosion-resistant and durable, this instrument is designed to withstand repeated cleaning.
Non-Slip Serrated Jaws: The tips feature horizontal grooves for maximum grip on medical textiles and compresses.
Ergonomic 14 cm Format: Offers a comfortable grip for all hand sizes, allowing for detailed work.
Single-Piece Design: No complex moving parts, making decontamination easy and ensuring a longer lifespan.
Versatility of Use: Ideal for removing soiled dressings, applying sterile compresses, or sorting small instruments.
Use the forceps to remove sterile compresses from their packaging to avoid manual contamination. When cleaning a wound, the forceps allow you to firmly hold a swab soaked in antiseptic. They are also very useful for holding a non-adherent dressing in place while securing it with medical tape. After each intervention, the forceps should be treated as a potentially contaminated instrument.
The stainless steel used allows for complete disinfection. For professional use, the forceps can be autoclaved or cleaned with hospital-grade disinfectant solutions. For home use, meticulous cleaning with isopropyl alcohol is generally sufficient. Always store your medical instrumentation in a clean, dry place to prevent dust accumulation on the jaws.
We recommend including at least two dressing forceps in every major first aid kit: one for handling clean material and another for removing soiled material. This product complies with the requirements of the CSA Z1220-17 standard regarding the instruments necessary for wound care in the workplace.
Dressing forceps have wider, serrated tips for handling fabrics (gauze, cotton), while splinter forceps have very fine tips for grasping small objects embedded under the skin.
This model is ideal for standard wound care and dressing changes. For complex surgical procedures, specific models with locking mechanisms (hemostatic forceps) may be required.
Thanks to their quality stainless steel construction, they are highly resistant to oxidation. However, it is advisable to keep them dry to maintain their finish and integrity over the long term.
