Nano-Lok™ DBI-SALA® 3M twin-leg self-retracting lifeline (SRL) for leading edge applications, 7.3 ft (2.2 m) per leg. Designed for work at height on unprotected leading edges (roofs, steel structures, beams). The galvanized cable withstands sharp cutting edges. Capacity: 310 lb (141 kg). The twin-leg design ensures continuous protection during movement.
3M purchase code: 7012819214, model: 3500259.
This product complies with ANSI Z359.14 Class 2 for leading edge applications. Made to order by 3M. Allow approximately 1 month for delivery.
Unprotected leading edges represent a major hazard: webbing can be severed during a fall. The galvanized cable resists this. The 7.3 ft (2.2 m) length offers optimal reach for movement on irregular surfaces. The twin-leg design allows transitioning between anchor points without interrupting fall protection.
Its speed-sensing locking mechanism arrests a fall within inches. The high-capacity external energy absorber limits forces on the falling worker. Once deployed, the overload indicator appears.
Housing is durable lightweight thermoplastic nylon. Total weight: 9.3 lb (4.22 kg). Integrates IRF (i-Safe) technology.
The cable of this self-retracting lifeline is made of galvanized steel, a zinc-treated metal material designed to resist corrosion. Unlike textile webbing, a steel cable cannot be severed by a sharp steel edge during a fall. This is the fundamental property that makes it essential for Leading Edge applications. Galvanization also ensures extended longevity in outdoor environments exposed to moisture.
The anchor point must always be above the dorsal D-ring of the harness and positioned vertically relative to the user. The worker should remain below the anchor within a 30-degree angle.
This model is designed for leading edge applications. The galvanized cable withstands unprotected sharp edges. The anchor must withstand 5,000 lb. Consult the manufacturer's manual for full details.
Perform a routine inspection before each use. Look for signs of deterioration, wear, or damage. Replace at the slightest sign of failure. A qualified person must inspect periodically. Recommended service life: 5 years. Visit the Service tab for Sylprotec inspection services.
Any equipment subjected to a fall or impact must be taken out of service.
Clean with mild soap and warm water (37°C). No bleach or abrasives. Air dry. Fully retract when not in use.
The 7.3 ft (2.2 m) length is optimized for configurations where the distance between the dorsal ring and foot level is reduced, or for more constrained environments. It provides a slightly shorter fall clearance, advantageous in roofing applications where free height is limited.
The twin-leg design is essential when the worker needs to move from one anchor point to another without interrupting fall protection. For a fixed workstation, a single-leg version is sufficient. Twin-leg is particularly recommended for framing, roofing, and steel construction work.
No, this SRL is designed for work at height on surfaces with sharp edges. For confined spaces and rescue, specific models (tripods, rescue SRLs) are available at Sylprotec.
For roofing and framing work requiring continuous movement on leading edges, pair this lifeline with a harness ExoFit X300 Class APL (FPH1403160C) for climbing and positioning, or the harness ExoFit X300 Class A crossover (FPH1403198C) for effective fall protection. Add safety glasses SecureFit 400 (YASF401BG) and earplugs EARsoft (OA1250) for on-site protection. Under "Accessories" at the bottom of this page.
The gloves Dyneema PU A4 (GS13SXGPU) provide excellent cut resistance when handling sharp materials at height. The bag Peakworks (FPBAG) protects your equipment between uses. For the 8 ft twin-leg version with quick connector, also consider the LVAR Nano-Lok 8 ft (FPLR3500253).
