The Protecta P200 PRO welding harness is built for hot work, welding, grinding, climbing and rescue/retrieval in demanding industrial environments. Its heat- and flame-resistant construction makes it a go-to choice for workers exposed to slag and spark projections, while delivering certified fall protection and all-day wearing comfort.
This Protecta P200 PRO harness is Class ADE, vest style, and features 4 D-rings:
The D-rings and connectors are made of strong alloy steel with a 5,000 lb tensile strength. The leg connections use tongue (barbed) buckles for a secure adjustment that does not slip, even with thick work clothing. The chest straps are joined by pass-thru interlocking buckles. The harness includes a sub-pelvic strap that improves comfort and distributes the load during suspension, an impact (fall) indicator for quick visual inspection, and web and lanyard storage keepers to keep lanyards out of the way. The straps come in distinct colours that make donning faster and easier. Colour: red and black.
Maximum worker capacity: 420 lb (including clothing, tools and equipment). Compliant with CSA Z259.10 for fall protection in Canada. Some models also meet OSHA and ANSI requirements.
The webbing is made of modacrylic over Kevlar® and polyester, providing outstanding heat and flame resistance : far beyond ordinary polyester. The webbing withstands slag projections up to 700 °F (371 °C). The alloy-steel hardware is left unpainted to ease visual inspection. Comfort padding reduces fatigue during extended wear.
This harness is ideal for hot work: welding, grinding and oxy-cutting, as well as climbing and rescue/retrieval in industrial and metalworking settings. Its thermal resistance sets it apart from universal polyester harnesses. Available size: medium/large (M/L).
Inspect before each use: cuts, fraying, thermal damage, broken stitching, deformation or seizing of buckles and attachment points. The impact indicator helps quickly confirm the equipment's integrity. A qualified person must inspect the harness at regular intervals (90 days, 180 days or yearly depending on conditions). Recommended service life: 5 years under regular use : a harness exposed to welding must be inspected more often than a standard harness. Any harness that has been subjected to a fall or impact must be removed from service immediately. Sylprotec offers an annual inspection service by a qualified technician.
Clean with lukewarm water (max 37 °C) and a mild soap. Never use bleach, solvents or abrasive products that would damage the fibres. Air dry away from any direct heat source and prolonged sunlight. Store in a clean, dry place to prevent premature wear of the textiles and metal components.
The ADE class covers three ring functions spread over 4 D-rings: A (dorsal D-ring for fall arrest), D (front D-ring for ascent) and E (pair of shoulder D-rings for rescue and retrieval). It is not a single-ring harness: it is a 4 D-ring, vest-style configuration built for demanding work and rescue.
Yes. Its modacrylic over Kevlar® and polyester webbing withstands slag projections up to 700 °F (371 °C), making it far more durable than a universal polyester harness in hot-work environments.
The maximum capacity is 420 lb, including clothing, tools and equipment.
