This Class APL harness provides fall arrest, positioning, and climbing through one aluminum alloy dorsal D-ring (stand-up), one aluminum sternal ring for climbing, and two aluminum side D-rings for positioning. 3M patented auto-locking buckles click and lock automatically in a single motion, eliminating the risk of forgetting manual locking seen with conventional double-locking buckles. Each D-ring is made from treated aluminum alloy, offering an excellent strength-to-weight ratio and superior corrosion resistance in wet or chemical environments. The RFID Connected Safety ID system, integrated into the harness body, allows safety managers to electronically record inspection dates and individual verification results. Five independent adjustment points (shoulders, chest, thighs, sub-pelvic) ensure an optimal fit and uniform force distribution during a fall arrest event.
Maximum capacity of 310 lb (140.6 kg) including worker weight, clothing, and equipment. Complies with CSA Z259.10-18 (Safety Harnesses) in effect in Canada. Polyester webbing tensile strength: 6,000 lb (2,722 kg). This harness meets Canadian provincial and federal occupational health and safety regulations for work at height.
High-strength polyester webbing (6,000 lb / 2,722 kg), resistant to abrasion, moisture, and UV. All hardware (D-rings, buckles, slides) made from treated aluminum alloy: excellent strength-to-weight ratio, superior corrosion resistance versus alloy steel in wet or chemical environments, and reduced total harness weight to minimize fatigue. The RFID Connected Safety ID system is encapsulated in the harness body, resistant to impact, water, and dust. Padding zones use memory foam covered with breathable fabric for maximum comfort during long workdays at height.
The ExoFit X300 wind energy harness is developed for wind turbine maintenance technicians and renewable energy production workers. It withstands harsh weather conditions on wind energy sites: strong wind, marine humidity, cold. Aluminum alloy hardware generates no interference with turbine electronic equipment. Made to order by 3M. Please allow approximately 1 month lead time.
Before each use, visually inspect the entire harness: webbing (wear, cuts, chemical or thermal burns, excessive UV exposure), hardware (deformation, corrosion, proper operation of 3M patented auto-locking buckles), stitching (fraying, tearing), and D-rings (deformation, cracks). A thorough inspection by a competent person must be performed every 6 months under normal use, or every 3 months under intensive use. Maximum service life is 5 years from first use or 10 years from date of manufacture. The harness must be immediately removed from service after any fall, even without apparent visible damage. Record each inspection using the integrated RFID Connected Safety ID system for complete traceability.
Clean the webbing with lukewarm water (max 37 degrees C / 98.6 degrees F) and a mild non-abrasive soap using a soft brush. Never use solvents, bleach, acids, or chlorinated products that degrade polyester fibres. Rinse thoroughly with clean water. Air dry away from direct heat and UV rays. Never place in a dryer. Clean the aluminum alloy hardware with a dry or slightly damp cloth. Lubricate auto-locking buckle pivots with light dry lubricant if needed. Store away from heat, humidity, and chemicals.
A passive RFID chip is integrated into the harness at manufacture. With a compatible 3M Connected Safety reader, managers can read the unique identifier and record inspections. This system replaces paper tags and enables complete traceability in a centralized database.
Side D-rings connect to a positioning rope or movement restriction system. These rings are not designed for fall arrest: always use the dorsal D-ring for connection to the fall arrest device.
The sternal ring, present on Class AL and APL harnesses, is designed for connection to climbing systems on vertical structures. It keeps the worker closer to the structure during climbing. It does not replace the dorsal D-ring for fall arrest.
You need complementary safety equipment. Check these items; pair this with for complete and compliant work at height, pair this harness with gloves (GZ13POFN), glasses (YA11514), and a helmet (TA222) type 2 class E.
